Trailleader, were you there Friday night cleaning up too? I was watching the outlaws test and tune but there was a Boost on the other track with greenish ski loops just destroying the other sleds (mostly other Boosts and Doos running). He was consistently 1-3 sled lengths in front of the other...
Title of this thread got me. I have 3 TAPP/STM combos. I've also run TAPP/stock combos. Tons of drag racing, hard pulls, back-to-back-to-back pulls. Not one blown belt. SRX has 137 1" track and 192 1.63 triggers. Cat has 137 1.25" track and 192 1.63 triggers. Winder has 146 1" track and 204 1.86...
I'll have it this weekend by Dragy hopefully. My 23 SRX is the fastest in my stable. 305 hp (MS17 with header). 1" track. 1.63 triggers. I can walk two lengths in 500 ft on every other 998 in my group, including the 137/146 conversion sled. In the SRX, 24/50 gears, TAPP/STM (11.25) with 46/34...
If you like lifting the skis at any speed with no effort at all, you'll like the 146 skid. I have Bill Mohr's Stingray spring in it. 4.5 turns and it pulls the skis at 80mph like nothing. Had to dial it down to 1 turn to get a little control over it. Pretty insane coming from a 137. If this was...
The four skid mounting points are identical. For the front two mounting points, the slide arm comes out and collars, bushings, bolts, washers, and nyloc nuts go in. I'm not missing anything am I??
Top pic is what it looks like at 500 ft under full acceleration. 137 frame, 146 skid, 1” Ripsaw, 1.86 Triggers, STM full length tunnel protectors. Little test and tuning. Totally different animal than a 137. Keeping it under control off the line is the biggest fight right now.
Running three headers. 2 TD Gen 2. 1 TD Gen 1. I've had two heat shields burn almost through in a penny-size spot if the shield rests on the header for any significant time. Haven't had any outright "fail" though, and I've cut/hammer/dolly them all to fit the header with space.
I can't recall who discussed this before but I would be careful shaving 3mm+ off the secondary. You have to make sure you have that much to give on full shift. Remove the spring and move to full shift. I took 2.5mm off mine and that was at my max comfort level.
These are measurements I took on my completely stock (for now) '23 SRX:
Weight:
631 lbs
Between 1/4 and 1/3 tank of fuel.
Four analog scales distributed as follows:
Rear of skid: 191 lbs
Under front skid spring: 79 lbs
Clutch-side ski: 192 lbs
Exhaust-side ski: 169 lbs
Clutch Offset...
