New Ecu flash for Yamaha Viper/Arctic cats 7000 w/POLL

Although I pulled my hair for a while to..... I’d still buy another yamicat. I’ve owned a decent number of different brands over the years and all had there quirks. I was a Ski Doo tech for a few years back in the mid ‘90’s..... I was loyal to them but I also seen their downfalls. These days...

New Ecu flash for Yamaha Viper/Arctic cats 7000 w/POLL

I will admit, I was hesitant to move forward with the starter as well due to the fact it sounded like it was healthy.....lesson learned lol. It wasn’t

New Ecu flash for Yamaha Viper/Arctic cats 7000 w/POLL

That sounds similar to what mine did. I found I had no injector pulse when cranking. Look at the thread of cold start below. My starter was the culprit even though it sounded fine. Fires up perfect now.

    Cold starting

I see what you’re getting at now. I wish I could have compared engine cranking speeds on both my ‘14 and ‘17 but the ‘14 always started. Going by sound only, they sounded identical but I understand that’s not accurate. One thing I now for sure is this new aftermarket starter cranks the engine...

    Cold starting

Totally agree on the cranking voltage. What I found if I measured the cold battery without charging, it was around 12.3-12.5 volts. On cranking, it would drop below 11.7 volts within a few cranks and rapidly drop to just below 11 volts. It would not start in that condition. Charge the battery to...

    Cold starting

I’ve wrote on a previous post my issue with hard cold starts on my 2017 XF7000. Just a refresher..... unless I had at least 13 volts at the battery, it would not start. I found that when cranking, there was no injector pulse. At 13 and higher, injector pulse was there and it would start. Starter...

New Ecu flash for Yamaha Viper/Arctic cats 7000 w/POLL

I have a ‘14 ZR7000 (10200 kms ) and a’17 XF7000 (3400 kms). Both with the latest flash. The ‘14 is a winner..... the ‘17 won’t start at any temp colder than -5 Celsius. New battery installed with no difference. Definitely voltage issue. I did some experiments this last few weeks and noted that...

    Cold starting

I’m having issues to but verified mine was fuel related. Anything -10c and colder is a crap shoot. No issues when warm. Checked spark-ok..... removed intake boots....held throttle open and inspected for fuel from injectors while cranking..... very little to nothing coming from the injectors...

    XF7000 cold start issues

Thanks for the reply..... I have tried that previously.... opening the throttle both minimal amounts to half way but didn’t seem to do much. I will however double check the throttle cable adjustment. I adjusted it as one of my first steps trying to find the issue but it doesn’t hurt to double check.

    XF7000 cold start issues

Hi all, New to the forum but have lurked for the last couple years. First off, I would like to thank everyone here for such an informative forum!!! It’s helped me multiple times. I have a 2017 XF 7000 Crosstrek - 3000 kms and has had the most recent flash (2018) done last year. This year, it’s...
