This probably is due the the R1 street bike connection. I know of some other yamaha products that have an ignition map change by grounding or ungrounding a wire. I'm not a aware of what if any HP gains were made by changing the R1 mapping.
Ok right now my sled has the transfer bars back off all the way and the limiter straps as loose as they go. That's how it came from the dealer.
Usually on my other sleds I would tighten the limiters up to middle setting but not sure about the transfer rods.
What are all you crazy Apex...
Judging by the new 120hp Nytro and the snowcross sled yamaha is releasing both based on the vector platform but with a rider forward adaptation the answer to your question is yes. But the 120hp 973cc triple is still carbureted this year.
I wanted to update on the handwarmers... second ride=frozen hands, not a happy boy.... frozen hands means I'm not able to ride the thing like I should :(
LOL its not sold yet.. I love the sled, I just never know how much I'll get to ride...
You decide turbo or SC yet? I know the turbo makes more power but I'm leaning SC right now
Nope we were riding in weather that was about 11-14 degrees F. Had to turn the warmers down hands were burning. Course we were only riding about 50 mph tops but in the trees and stuff they worked great which is where I need the lighter gloves.
I had a similar experience. The thumb throttle (flipper) got really hot, too hot for comfort. The bars had to be turned down as well.
Darko there is no secret in my case they just worked. It was the first ride maybe that will change. I wear a lightweight and thin DaKine glove so I...
Mine is loosest as well. Not hits yet but I haven't hit any big whoops or jumped it.... yet.
And Lazy as stated by others in this thread get lost. If you're going to take issue with every comment made that you don't agree with we don't need you here. We're looking for solutions on this...
Guys on snowest are recommending filling the bars with insulation (spray type or fiberglass backed in tight) to help prevent the heatsinking effect and most guys are pretty pleased so far. None have tried the Apex yet but other sleds have seen a marked improvement.
I think he said the Apex was choking in the snow with the PL exhaust. I don't think that means its the exhaust. Just saying I think he was running it when the problem occured.
He said he was new to 4-strokes. Most people aren't used to their sled acting like a car. He just dropped 10k USD on it and wants to hear that everythings is normal which it is.
I thought maybe the point of the box was to give the same volume exahust without it hanging as low as the circular style. A square shape would have more volume with a smaller width/diamter than a circle of same diameter...
