Awesome job on the CAI project Dan!, makes a lot of sense. Do you have a part number for that K&N elbow.? I’m guessing that didn’t come with filter. Also is that just the stock rubber intake hose that you drilled the fitting into or is that another aftermarket part?

I found a cross reference one from Napa here in Canada. Get it in a few days, if its what I wanted and it fits ,I will post the part number. As a backup i have a buddy bringing a couple of the O reilly ones home from Florida when he is done snowbirding.

Yeah I’ve seen their filter kits but their pump sock still has the straight fitting on it meaning when you stuff it in the banana housing you need to kink it. The Oreilly one has a rigid 90 degree elbow on it so the filter is not kinked when in position. Maybe I’m over analyzing this….. but I’m...

I really don’t like the kink in the filter sock on the bottom the pump. Has anyone found a Canadian source for the Oreilly auto parts one, or similar?

Looking for a little clarity on the fuel “socks” before I take my tank apart on 17 sidewinder. Why 3 fuel socks? Are they fastened down in the tank or just floating around. Are they easy to change ? Thanks 74 Nitro. That makes a lot of sense. Doing that mine has basically no play. Teflon is still on bushings but buttons are cracked and flat. Have new ones arriving tomorrow.

I am curious about his as well. With my secondary dissassembled I have a slight rock or wobble in the sheave and helix bushings. I mic’s them and stub shaft is 1.495” and helix is 1.500 and sheave is 1.502. So basically .005-.007 of play in bushings. Is that acceptable??
