Had to give my dealer the new part number and they had to enter it into their
system so that they could order them. Any idea what the difference is? Hope
they last longer than the old ones.

Apparently not every dealer is aware of this. I...
Big Black Warrior,
I ran 130 miles myself on the hill today. I was also
there on Wednesday and there were way more sleds
that day. The trails were great today compared to Wed.
I love my Apex more each time I ride it. 650 miles so
far. Man you sure do get out and lay down the miles.
Don`t believe the low fuel light until you fill the sled. I rode about 10 miles with the light on and when I fueled I could only get 7.8 gallons in the tank.
That means I had over 2 gallons left. I got 14.6 miles per gallon on that
ride which included a 110 mph run across the lake.
Rode 50 miles yesterday with 4 amp fuse in sled and 3 amp
in my adapter with no problems. Next ride will be Monday if the
snow stays with us. I`ll try a new 3 amp in the sled and see what happens.
Today I put about 20 miles on local. I installed a 4 amp fuse
in the sled and 3 amp in my adapter. So far no blown fuses.
Starting to wonder if Yamaha didn`t get a bad batch of fuses.
Today I measured the amp draw of my shield.
It spiked to almost an amp when first plugged
in and then dropped to less then half an amp.
I installed a 3 amp fuse in my adapter and
plugged my helmet into my cars cigar lighter
and drove for almost an hour with no problem.
My plan is to put a...
What about installing a fairly thick plastic washer
between the hook end and the bar to insulate
it and it will add slightly to the short length of
the grip. I realize it won`t help with the already short heated grip, but it should help to keep
the hook from being a heat sink.
Yes with an adapter that plugs into the sleds
exsisting acc plug. Mine blew after an hour
and many people have posted that theirs also
blew. Trying to figure if theres a problem with
using this plug for the heated shield before I
change the fuse.
I have seen many post about blowing the acc.
fuse when hooking up the heated shield to the
acc. plug. Mine blew the fuse. Please post if you
blew the fuse and those that haven`t how many
miles have you ridden with the shield plugged in.
Thought about ear plugs but I use a collett communicator
and would never hear my buds. I`m going to try a
different helmet to see if it won`t resonate so much.
I rode my new Apex 75 miles in Old Forge NY yesterday and I was amazed at the handling and ride. :D It took all of the bumps 10 times better than my old XCR 800. The power was awesome. Really hard to keep from running it too hard during break in. I blew the 12v acc. fuse and the hand warmers...
