Yamaha a no show at Big East Show !!!

I drove just over an hour to the show. And it was worth it for me. I met up with old friends. Got to talk with representatives from Arctic Cat, Polaris, and Ski-Doo. I got a killer deal on iGrip studs. I saw Stud Boy 6” Shaper Bars there for $88, better than any deal that I found online...

    2023 Thundercat Pricing

Amen to that. - 2023 Arctic Cat ZR6000 MSRP = $14,399 - 2023 Ski-Doo Blizzard 600R MSRP = $13,249 Cat USED TO offer "competitive" Spring Order pricing. And now they want customers to pay a $1,150 USD premium or more for less power, a much older design, no track options, a much smaller dealer...

"New" 09 XTX Excitement and Panic

Probably. But most snowmobilers ignore suspension maintenance and seasonal shock services.

"New" 09 XTX Excitement and Panic

Also, I think a Nytro "must do" mod is adding a sleeve to one of the skid shocks. I believe Yamaha fixed this on later model Nytros and made the shock buddy thicker.

"New" 09 XTX Excitement and Panic

A properly set-up Nytro XTX handles great, in my opinion. And this is coming from a "Ski-Doo" guy. I also believe a lot of Yamaha 4-stroke owners have good luck with Ski-Doo Pilot Skis. And I have had great luck with Stud Boy Shaper Bar Skegs.

Much talked about mach z sidewinder race

Rumor is that they did not use the Launch Mode on the Mach Zed runs at this year's Old Forge NY Shootout. Launch mode should make it even faster out of the hole. That being said, a "tuned" Mach Z should be no match for a "tuned" Thunder Winder.

Much talked about mach z sidewinder race

Equally studded and with the launch mode (and Smart Shoxs) working on the Mach Z, I could see a stock Mach Z beating a stock Sidewinder in a 1,320 or 1,000 foot or shorter race. Now if they are tuned, my money is on the Sidewinder.

    XTX rear shock options

Isn't there a countermeasure or sleeve to help prevent this?

Venture GT Carbide Skegs -- Need Advice

I am leaning towards the stock skis with 6" Woody's Doolies for the Venture GT 144. I have tried the Bergstrom 6" on our Ski-Doos with Pilot Skis, they are nice but I usually 6" standard Woody's on the Ski-Doos ... no complaints on those and they are cheap and readily available from the Ski-Doo...

Venture GT Carbide Skegs -- Need Advice

My Dad has a 2008 Venture GT (144" track, stock skis, no studs) that I maintain for him. What size carbide skegs should I get for him? 4", 6", single, duallies? Thanks.

$4000 for '07 FX (600 mi) ok? Is it the right sled for me?

Is that $4,000 US or CDN? Around my parts (Northeast US) you can pick up a BRAND NEW Phazer RTX for under $5,500.

    Wifes Nytro let us down!

I don't think so, especially since this guy owns and regularly rides an Apex, a Nytro, and Ski-Doo 4TEC. I think this thread was a warning to others and a little frustration, on breaking down 60 miles from no where with a 1 year old sled. I for one, appreciate his honest, non-brand loyal...

Will a NYTRO XTX fit in a 10 foot trailer???

Congratulations on the good deal. I think I would prefer a TNT 4TEC, but new and used the deals on the 4TEC Doos are no where near what you can snag a Nytro for. Nytros are going for about $2,000+ cheaper right now.

Will a NYTRO XTX fit in a 10 foot trailer???

Well I'm going to Speculator next week; I've rented a Nytro XTX for a couple of days. We'll see how much I like it.

    Ski-doo pilots

The local dealers, around here are just about giving Nytros away, this time of year. So it has definitely gotten me to consider a Nytro. The dealer closest to me is trying sell me a new 2008. I questioned the cost of the $1,400 part kit to upgrade a 2008 to 2009 front end geometry. And...

Will a NYTRO XTX fit in a 10 foot trailer???

Joe, you are everywhere!!! Again, the Nytro XTX was impressive for a 144". Personally, I would prefer a TNT, but the discounted prices on new or lightly used Nytros are so good right now (the motor ain't bad either). I would LOVE to go out West snowmobiling, but not until my Mom retires...

Rebuilding shocks in Western New York

Agreed. Steve Mathewson, in Little Valley, does GREAT work. I've also used Ian at Monster Performance, in Schuylerville, too. He performed great work on my TNT. Again, they both do great work and are much more cost effective then the other big name in NY.
