Broke mine the start of last year. Dont really know why but did have a lot of miles on it. Sent it out to star for a revalve and stiffer spring the year before. No issues on the new shock but has not been revalved.
Did mine at 7000 miles and the old ones looked like the new ones. Checked them this year at 17000 miles and they are still good. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Just my 2 cents. I own an 2013 apex xtx and a 2016 pantera 7000 Ltd and the suspension on the cat needs way less service than my apex. It is way easier to remove the rear skid and the front suspension after 10000 miles is as tight as the day it was new. No bushings that wear out. The apex is...
I used a medium sized flat headed screwdriver and pound them out from the inside. They are not easy to get out, just have to get the screwdriver against the edge of it and hammer it out.
I am going through my 14000 mile xtx right now. The a arm bushings at the spindle and ski bolt bushings need to be done to tighten up the front end. Definatly change the bushings in the secondary clutch and the ramp buttons. Grease the jackshaft bearing when you take that clutch off. Changing...
I have the same sled with 14000 miles and have had no issues at all, very reliable sled. Get a set of ice scratchers, and when the sliders are worn out replace them with the dupont sliders. The rear suspension is very tough but also a bit harsh, lots of info in the forums on how to fix that.
We live in the east so its the only way we are ever going to ride long distances. Permit costs are part of the sport, money well spent. It does suck when we have a bad year but at least you can chase the snow and be able to ride perfectly maintained trails. Mother nature is a bitch sometimes.
Thats really what I wanted to know was if it will steer in the powder. It can be worked on for the trail with snow trackers or cobra head carbides. My xtx will go just about anywhere in the powder, just wont turn so that is the remedy for my problem. We have about 2 1/2 feet of snow here now...
Check your exhaust for any scrapes, the tunnel protectors brackets get bent over time and you may not have the clearance that you once had. You may have to shim them lower to get the proper clearance.
Its got just over 11000 miles, and stock motor. Never rolled either. I think its just metal fatigue. Welded the ear back on for now because new piece is back ordered and won't be in for 2 weeks. Can't wait this year, going to be a short season as it is.
While I was out riding this weekend, near the end of the day, I could smell antifreeze coming from under the hood. I checked it out with a flashlight, and it looked like it was coming out of the overflow jug and dripping on the exhaust. When I got home I removed all the bodywork and noticed it...
I've still got my 94 that i bought new. Over the years it has been upgraded to quite a weapon. Lifted cylinders, welded crank, 800 y pipes and pipes, 800 drive line and stingers. I only ride it in the spring on the lake when it flattens out. Very impressive power, pulls hard out of the hole and...
Bringing this back up but I went looking for these decals and it says discontinued on all the parts finders. Does anyone on here have any or know if someone makes them?
