Anyone know where I can find spring rates for Ymaha springs or maybe recommend a place that has a good variety for Yamaha's. Currently I have the Dalton Red in and it's not shifting out all the way leaving about an inch left at the top. Dalton has it listed as 39kg pre and 133 total.
Anyone tried them? Can you run one shaper bar per ski and leave one of the cheap ones that come on it as well?
If so, what sizes are you running 4.5's? Do you run them on the outside or inside?
For those of you that have installed one, I just got mine and it was supposed to come with detailed instructions, got none. Did you guys cut the old piece out? I wasn't able to pull the old one out... Did you cut the bulkhead area underneath where the tube curves and connects to the rubber...
Jester,
I'm with Rockerdan, do you have the DPYR 62's that require rivets? I believe the new proline kit has the threaded screws for adjusting weight. If it's the rivet set up, we can definately help you with the weight in each hole.
Good to here, I did a search and read allot mixed reviews. Wanting to hear from Apex owners as most who appeared to not like them were Attack owners...
Anybody run these with good luck. My guess is, if there is a ski that drives over trail slop and other tracks without wanting to hunt it is these. I know there must be a few trade-offs like with loose snow they push, but do they drive over the chop without yanking you around?
I talked to a guy last week who said he crossed at Kineo. Not sure about the rest of the lake, it has been warm here, so be careful. Usually if your on the Rockwood side you can run up to the store and they will let you know if it's o.k. to cross.
jwifferdill,
Thanks, that is a good report on those. Nice to finally get feedback on an Apex as most on here run them on the Attack.
So they definaltey sound better than stock but still exhibit some of the stock ski characteristics but to a lesser degree. Know if anyone has tried the...
Anybody put any on an Apex this year and care to share their results. Really looking for a ski that will drive over the other ski tracks without following and less overall darting.
Bob,
You'll find the trails in Greenville are not quite up to the level of Quebec trails. Last year there groomers were broke allot and didn't render very good riding so hopefully everything will be running fine when your there... The good thing is you can branch off to several other areas...
Knapp Attack,
There is a post about Pilots in the ski section that talks about a different rubber spacer for those ski's that someone said helped them out nicely. Might want to check it out, could be your answer...
I find the biggest problem with most threads on ski's are that most are not really specific to the advantages. Most just say they rail or handle good...
The biggest dissapointment with the Apex is you constantly have to steer it. I would like to know if any of these aftermarket ski's are...
Depends on how much you notice when you ride. I have an 07GT and switch with my buddy on his 06 std. and can tell the difference immediately, where he can't tell a difference at all. If you know sleds well and like to fine tune, the gt is the better option imo...
P.S. Nice Road king, looks...
I ran C&A razors and didn't keep them on my Apex. They definatley handle better than stock, but steer heavy and dart at 40 mph and under.
Most of the reviews I have read, the Slydogs have been on Attacks and those handle different from the Apex. I was wondering if the Slydogs dart at low...
Charged RTX,
Did you do the work yourself? Just wondering what the cost of the port job and clean-up would run... How difficult is it to get the heads off? Enough room in there...
