I have the kit and I saw 126 on the speedo recentely. Turn your air screws 2.5 turns out, make sure your track tension is good and that your carbs and clean and sync'd. It will still pull topend with the filters. Goodluck
Thanks for the replies guys. Did either of you try to adjust the secondary twist to put more pressure on the belt? If so did it make a difference? Im also wondering if the next size shorter belt would make a difference?
Thanks for the reply. I will try the new belt and then go from there. Now it seems like I have a few good options with the seconday and belt. Thanks again!
Lately I have been trying to figure out my low power/ fuel mileage issues with my 03 shorty. After cleaning the carbs, changing needle settings, and aligning my track and changing the tension finally I have seen some good gains in performance. I basically now have three questions:
1. Now...
From what I am told changing the settings to 2 and 6 will give you more rpm top end. I guess you have to take the secondary off to make this adjustment. Sorry I cant help more, hopefully more knowledgable guys with chime in. Good luck
Hey I have the same problem. I have an 03 Shorty with just an ECP kit, stock clutching and I am only getting 10-11 mpg. The filter kit hurt it maybe .5mpg but my sled is just a pig. I wish I could figure it out, I am going to try to clean the carbs this weekend and see if that makes a...
Thanks for the replies guys. I will try the clutching changes this weekend they will hopefully make a difference. I have been thinking about saving up for a new track because I had heard that makes a huge difference. That being said, any other ideas on the fuel mileage? I really dont think...
Thanks for the reply. I dont think he ever did anything with the clutching because he said the sled handled like a tank and so he just wanted to get rid of it. Also the plugs are the brand new 10's that Freddie recommends.
First off, the sled is a black 03 Shorty with now 700 miles. I bought it with 500 miles and have only got to ride it twice. Here are my two issues:
1. First time I rode it it felt nice but not all that fast. It seemed powerful but I was expecting more (revving to about 9300 rpm up top)...
I hooked mine right up to the battery. It takes alittle more time to take everything off to access the battery but it is the cleanest installation. You can then route the wire back up along the frame with the factory wiring harness and you can even tell that it is there. Goodluck
Basically click on the "Tech Page" and then click on the picture of the sled (Black Warrior). From there go down to MISCELLANEOUS and then go down to "Plans to build your own sled lift." I think this link should show them. Thanks

Has anyone tried to print these? I want to build the lift but I need to print out these diagrams and they wont print properly. I have tried printing each of the 4 variations found on the tech page but none work. They either print all black blocks on the paper or they print too big and get cut...
With much talking about the K&N's, I have just been wondering about this for my own piece of mind. I believe that the filters work, but put that aside. Right now I am wondering about the jetting provided with the kit. Some people on here seem to be having better luck with richer jetting in...
Thanks for the replies guys. Is this something I can do by (pry apart?) myself and then just have someone weld the muffler back together? Also, seat of the pants feel shows no power loss? Thanks again guys
