Sounds like you are having the opposite problem I had last year, perhaps these vids might help. At the very least in gives you more information to hopefully narrow things down. Have you switched the battery out with another one yet? I had something similar happen on a Harley and it ended up...
So we decided to stay up one more day. It idles around 1500rpm, I loosened up the cable to make sure the TORS wasn't doing it, I may try the idle screw adjustment later, it's not the easiest to access without pulling everything off. I will report back later.

A little, I dontd drive it much. I will look at it closer when ew get home. I drove it and it never died.... It felt like it was going to but I blipped the throttle and it stayed running. Overall it runs better, starts better and seems smoother. Is the idle completely computer controlled or can...
So I got the reflash on my wife's 14 Viper Thursday. Up north now and it quits every time she let's off the throttle coming to a stop or a steep hill. I did a search and I didn't see anyone else with that problem.... Anyone? I have very spotty internet so I apologize if this is covered...
It's Fixed !!
I just got done putting the Sidewinder Regulator ( Its the EXACT same and it also tested good ) in the Viper and the volts went right to 14.3 which is where it should be based on speaking with Jack from Roadster Cycle who made the videos.
Some of you might be wondering why...
Yes, I might as well, I have gone this far..... Plus I have to install all my TD stuff on the Sidewinder anyway. Then try to go riding one more time.
Actually thank you and everyone who contributed ! It's not fixed yet when it is I will confirm !
Regulator Test Procedure
This is not in the service manual... Unless I missed it, if it would have been it would have been fixed awhile ago. This can apply to almost any Mosfet style regulator which is what we have. I hope this helps anyone in the future. Please watch the video first, its...
Well its NOT the regulator, Ugh. I took it off and put it on my sidewinder and it went up to 13.8 volts put it back on the viper and it went was 12.1-12.4 no matter the RPM. The search continues, I will now start removing pieces and parts in hopes it is something external and visible, then to...
I will pull mine today , I thinks ours are already a Mosfet style. I certainly don't want to cause another worry or upgrade thread, I just want to know if I am missing something or some test before I buy one as this seems like an odd problem of a regulator going out.
