Well that was fun, NOT! Had to lift the motor up and forward about 6 inches to get my paws back there. What a friggin mess man, coolant everywhere! LOL Anyhow, got that hose replaced and the motor back in, that was no picnic either. All back together and ready for next season.
Well, I pulled al the bolts that hold that upper frame onto the bulkhead and then removed the coolant tanks. I have all three engine mount bolts removed and this thing still barely moves. I am trying to remove the least amount of stuff to get the engine far enough forward at which I will hire a...
The pipe idea is a good one, but i literally have about 1/4 inch of space between the bulk head and the motor where I can see the hose and the ever so small slit that was caused by the pipe shrapnel! What a mess, this is going to be so expensive, the hose is $14.00 but the beer is going to be...
I pulled that main bolt towards the gas tank, took the exhaust apart again (man I am getting good at assembly and disassembly of this exhaust!) and loosened the two forward bolts. Thing didnt seem to budge, I am going to take a fresh look in the morning. I can not believe that damn piece of...
clutch side Y pipe finally gave way on the last trip of the year. Shortly after starting losing coolant. Found some coolant around lower hose clamp so I replaced it thinking it was the problem. Go the new Y pipe in and changed the oil. Started her up and she's puking coolant. Found the issue...
You might want to just send your existing arm/Arms out to Half Baked. They reweld and beef up the arms and re-powerdercoat. They did all three of my sleds and all came out perfect. Have over 3500 miles on the arms now and not any problems and the powder coating looks brand new. I think you can...
I have three GT's in the arsenal.
Mine has 10,500 miles: Replaced both Y pipes with stainless, one set of donuts, all bogey wheels upgraded to removable bearings ( I grease them every year now), Both bearings replaced at 8K miles (clutch and speedo) although they were fine since I grease them...
I did pry with a bar and the bearing still did not come off. Actually had to removed the chase and dismantle the bearing then slide the drive shaft off and removed the remains of the bearing with the shaft removed. When I used the pry bar the wheel slid in up against he inner wheel. I dont have...
pulling the drive shaft to replace the track and when I pulled the bearing off I moved one of the Drive wheels, Any simple way to move it back, never have done this before.
Anyone have any tips on how to get the damn bearing off the speedo side of the drive shaft. Som-B is siezed up on that thing, and I did remove the two set screws. Just replaced it 2500miles ago, but man its on there. I was thinking some penetrating oil and then some heat???
Help!
Thanks...
I pulled the bottom access panel off to drain the remainder of the oil from the engine and found coolant on the bottom. Flipped her over and found that the main line (1.5") on the clutch side that goes to the heat exchanger has a compression clamp. I found a pooling of coolant on the end of the...
Guys, in desperate need of some help here. My 2007 Apex GT has 10400 miles on it. I have done all the routine maint, but am embarrassed to say I never checked the coolant levels. This last trip after about 400 miles my coolant light kept coming on, no one else in the group was having the problem...
Hey guys, did a search on this but not finding what I am looking for. I have about 11K miles on my 07 GT. Have done the halfbaked beef up kit, pioneer revalve and spring change on the rear ohlins. I am going to send them my front GYTR's. Donuts have been done, one Y pipe replaced with stainless...
Have a 3"x3" hole in the center from stud damage. 2007 Apex GT with 11K miles. Question, would you replace it? Second Question, what is the correct pitch, 2.52? Third Question, every third window closed or all windows open?
Thanks
J
Older apex's do not need to worry about stuffing that compartment, yamaha actually makes a bag for that area, however any model with power steering has the pump with cooling fins in that area, I don't think you will want to obstruct that from getting air
Has anyone changed the fuel filter on their APEX. I have an 07 GT with 10K miles and they owners manual says to check and replace if neccessary. Any thoughts?
Thanks
