I have an 00 SRX and was curious how much better the mono shock is compared to the pro-action?

well .....it's like this.........look at the sky during a bright sunny day (mono)then look at the sky at night time(pro action).......is there a difference????i came from an 01 srx(which i still have) and i can tell you that the difference is huge. the mono shock is much more comfortable and i find myself riding faster over bumps.

goldbergrx1,
Just incase you need a second opinion. I had a 99SRX then a 2002 SRX then an 02 viper with an M-10 and now an 05 RX1. The mono shock rocks!!! It eats up the moguls with no problem, no need for bender adjustable weight transfer rods (Proaction) because the monoshock has adjustable weight transfer and boy does it transfer. I reduced the weight transfer from the stock setting, I mean lifting the skis 18-24 inches everytime you slam the ol thumb to the bar is cool, but hard to turn that way. Proaction compared to monoshock is no comparision. M10 compared to monoshock advantage monoshock on weight transfer, ride comfort, and less robbing of top end speed, but not as huge a difference as proaction.

Yea, It's major. Has to be the best suspension on the market today.

TY 4 Stroke God
In my last wed group, 3 guys had the mono and they just ate up the 6" stutter bumps like nothing. These guys all had previous RX 1s and they said HUGE difference. Bluedog adjusted his weight transfer some but the others loved them straight out of the crate.
I changed mine based on the posts here. Haven't ridden it since the change (no f**king Snow).
I loved it out of the box even know I'm on the large end of the setup scale. The occasional bottoming out and ski lift were there to remind me of the old days!!

Boy Tork do you know if her face is picked? She Really hooks up.
Now on topic I swapped out pro action for the mono and though we have gotten more rain than snow only got one ride and I had not yet moved up to the second clip position so I did bottom pretty hard a couple of times. I have never ridden a m-10 but it sounds like the clip is the trick to equal up up to m-10. I didnt know what I was missing! With only adjusting the rear transfer rod The skis feel stuck to the ground already! I went from a 87 formula plus to 700sx "same susp. travel" when they got rid of the pogo's and the 03 rx-1 was a real let down all over. spinning at almost any speed That track belonged on a 500! but being a long time yamibike guy they put a 4 stroke in a sled! I was right in the front of the line and shipped the sx. Boy did I miss it after going from ruling in tight twistys to having to bust my arse to push it through the corners only to get the infamous ski lift. On the sx If a real sharpy snuck up before I could say oh
I had already made the corner and had time to look back and watch my doo buddy go straight through. Almost not fair but that inner ski would lift and shoot straight through the corner! I am no longer thinking of a srx for a spare. With my ripsaw all I need now is a turbo... Maybe next year?

I love my '05. It's one bada$$ engineered ride. My time on it is limited with only 150 miles riden. I was excited about the new sled, but was skepticle about the added travel over my 97 700sx and it's cornering ability. Out of the box, I can't be more pleased with the performance. With more riding time and some tweaks, I can only imagine how much fun this sled is going to be to ride.
Going over the shutter bumps is what is really amazing. Going 50-60mph wasn't any problem and felt really stable.
I've done some searching and poking around, but if anyone could point me to some threads with good setup info, it would be appreciated. I weigh in the neighborhood of 180lbs and sometimes carry my 60lb son. I love the ability to click to different settings because of those weight changes. Although, I wonder what settings there are in the suspension and what to look for and/or change. My dealer didn't ask me how much I weighed or how I like to ride, so I question the setup.
Thanks,
Jeff

goldberg,
The Mono compared to the M10. There isn't a huge difference in ride comfort. I think the only way I can do this comparision is with numbers 1=worse 10=best Ride comfort Mono 9; M10 8. Weight transfer Mono 10; M10 2, riding the moguls fast Mono 9; M10 7. ease of adjustment Mono 10; M10 6, reliability Mono ??; M10 5. The M10 was awesome in the viper but it didn't transfer weight very well, was harder to adjust on the trail, it was time consuming and difficult to get it just right for your weight, and the brackets (on the inside of the tunnel up front where the bolt goes through) where egging out, also a few times the bolts would come loose, I don't know if I can blame the poor gas milage on the M10 with all the other mods I had, but I was only getting about 9-10 MPG. If you are debating weather or not you should get and 05 RX1 stop now and go get one you will love it!!! The only debate you should be having is Vector RX1 Vector RX1 hummm Vector probably alittle better in the tight trails RX1 more HP faster on the big end??? Vector RX1 I think I will just get a Vector for my wife and then decide which one I want to ride that day.
