Looking for some feedback and/or experince on this topic. My buddy has a stock 07 Apex with no miles on it and I'm on an 05 RX Warrior with air filter kit (slides & jetted) - both sleds are studded - shorty has 98 and the Warrior has 144. We dragged our sleds this weekend - more gravel than snow, but still a blast. I pulled him on the hole shot, quickly turned into a neck-n-neck race and he finally squeezed out in front of me by a sled length, but didn't get any further. Now the conditions in general were #*$&@, but he claims that once he had me by a sled length that he "fadded off on the throttle". I personally think that is an excuse and he was surprised that the race was that close - he thought that he would absolutely blow me out of the water? Any similiar experiences out there or is my buddy telling the truth??

I drive an 04 Warrior . Stock, no filters. 108 Megabytes
Bought my wife a 06 Apex GT. Stock, 96 Megabytes.
Apex absolutely kicks the Warriors butt once we get 10 lengths out.
Your buddy may well have been telling the truth.

Thanks for the input Riceburner - I guess my question follewd on the tail of another posting on this site re 05 RX vs F7 and one of comments about an 05 RX beating up on a couple Apex's and even an Attak. Either way, I am happy with my first 4-stroke.

That's the key right there. Wait until he gets AT LEAST 500 on it (and preferably over 1000) and it'll be a whole different story. These 4 strokes take a LOT of break-in before full power is achieved. Have fun while it lasts.
