05 RX1 CATASTROPHIC SUSPENSION FAILURE

The forward weldment called a Pivot Arm on my rear suspension is severly damaged. The tube which the front of the transfer rod mounts to is completely seperated from the main weldment. (see picture) Will Yamaha cover this part? I would gladly re-assemble if Yamaha would cover the cost of the part.

Take it to the dealer. There was trouble with these and many guys got them replaced on warranty. But, it is a known problem.

Depending on the dealer, you might have to be a bit firm with them to ensure they check with Yamaha. Don't go overboard. You want your service manager to be your best friend!

Seeing how you got it out already, it looks like you are willing to settle for parts. You may want use that in your negotiations.

Did the track get damaged? Might want to take a close look at that.
