I am new to this sled yesterday was my third ride. I have put a total of 150 miles on it. It was over steering terrible and wandering so I decided to take a little pre-load off the monoshock it was on the stiffest setting. Now it is three clicks from the top I guess about middle. I weigh about 195 pounds just to give you an idea.
It steered better but when we went from the MRP to Indian lake. Through that narrow trail the sharp bumps moving at low speed made the suspension make a banging noise is the normal for a Yamaha?
It didn't do it when I was on the normal trail or accelerating.
I also checked the front fox floats they have 75 PSI in them what is everyone running?
This sled is nice but ill handling......

I keep mono at middle setting I am 185
noise from skid is normal it sucks
measure air psi with no weight on skis or off the floor I keep mine at 50 psi that seems to be the norm or just make sure front control arms are perfectly horizontal with skis on the floor
try some snow tracker carbides for the skis that will solve the darting
after tha you will love it

You will need a pair of aftermarket skis, best investment you can make to virtually eliminate darting.
Here are a couple to chose from:
Slydogs (My Preference)
USI
Simons
Also, set the Fox pressure to 40-45 PSI. Remember to lift the front end, pressure off the shocks when setting the PSI..
Good luck

Wow you guys are awesome this is all great stuff keep it coming.
It seems the guy I got this sled from had it set up completely wrong. He was about my size. He has 75 PSI in the FOX Floats. Does the front end hang low with the lower pressures like 45 - 50 PSI?
I talked to another local guy that has put a set of pilot 5.7 skis on and he says there awesome. Same sled as mine....
Also where do you guys have the preload on the monoshock. Mine was on high I moved it 3 clicks back down the ramp. Seems OK I weigh about 195#.

I have same sled.....here is what ive done.
-DOO pilot skis with 6" shaper bars
-Run A arms LEVEL to ground(appox 40lbs)
-13mm sway bar
-strap tightened up 1 hole from stock
-transfer rod half thread showing
this should make the sled rail in flat trials.....also you might want to consider a predator track in the future for better top speed and slider wear.....also check out my 135mm idler wheel thread with 2 bolt mounts.

these sleds need mostly SKID work more then anything....keep an eye on donuts too.
RamAIR is probably single biggest power adder for the buck.
you will end up loving this sled....i do!

Dan, when you say half thread showing on transfer rod, do you mean just the start of the first coil? That would mean virtually no ski lift upon acceleration. Also,I have a ram air box lid and have noticed on very rare occasions a low end bog what is up with that?
