06 Yamaha Vector
I am new to this forum. This year I bought an 06 Vector and plan to head out on a trip this weekend with a crew. I haven't driven the sled enough to know how far I can travel on a tank. Anyone have an idea how many kms or miles to a tank approx on this sled?

In average trail riding conditions and depending on your thumb you can expect anywhere from 14-17 MPG. If your sled has a 10 gal. tank then 140 - 170 miles till empty. On my 05 Vector when the fuel light would come on I still had 1.5 - 2 gal. of fuel left.

Congrats on the "new to you" ride! Tell us more about the sled! Ton's of good info on this site as well as helpful people.

I have an 05 vector and my riding bud has an 08.. Two weeks ago we were up north riding for a few days.. Total for 350 miles.. We kept track of our mpg
I took .001 of a gallon more than he did.. Our average ended up 19.3 on both sleds.. That was steady running with nothing above 65 mph. I have 12,000 miles on mine and have always got 17.5+ average. So you can figure 140 miles easily per tank..I too have 1.5 gal. left in the tank when the light comes on. MM.

Max, I know that for years you have gotten exceptional MPG on your Vector and maybe your friend's 08 does as well. Yours is NOT the norm out there. Don't know what's different about your sled but no matter. But to say that one can figure on 140 miles easily per tank is just plain bad advice IMO.

Just sayin'.....

Thanks guys that's awesome! The last sled I had I sold 15 years ago to buy my son his first (2003 - 120cc Polaris, when he was 3!). He ended up racing it on the Sno Cross circuit and then graduated to a Skidoo 300 (the first year they made those) and raced it. The doesn't race anymore however he drives a 440 Sno Pro.............SO, short story long.....MOM finally bought herself a sled again this year and am loving the HUGE improvements from when I last had a sled! Thanks for the advise guys....really appreciate it!

I will go with the fact that I should be able to get 100 miles on a tank.....the others I'm traveling with will be around the same so I should be fine!

I got mine in 05, the first one of our group riding a 4-stroker.. I was amazed at the mileage right off the get-go.. I could by-pass the normal mid day gas fill-ups and just watched my riding buds suck down the fuel.. That's when both buds bought 08 vectors. I would need to be hauling a semi trailer behind me to only get 100 per tank... I've never got worse than 16.5 "ever".. We do ride "NON" crazy.. MM.:hide:LaLaLa

Yes I know you bought yours new and all. Even when I had the ProActive skid in my 05 about the best I could ever do was 17 and that was in perfect conditions. With the M10 I'm at a solid 15 and touch 16 MPG on occasion.

I averaged around 16.5 on my 2 sleds this last weekend with around 150 miles of mostly trail riding. The warrior sucks a little more fuel, especially if you are going slow. (day 2 was riding with family, aka slower, which dropped my average down to that 16.5) I'm normally up around 17.5-18 or so, again, depending on speed and conditions.

(I filled both at the same time, so I only know an average for both sleds combined...)
