I've been noticing a high pitch ratteling noise comming from engine compartment. I was thinking that it might be the heat shield that covers the exaust manifolds. I took it apart and the shield seems to be tight both top and bottom. While I was in there I checked exaust donuts, pipes and manifolds and they are all in good shape. I have 4000 mi. on sled. This noise comes in when accelerating between about 4- 5000 rpm and then goes away. Has anyone else heard a similar noise? any input would be greatly appreciated.
the cooling fan on my sled rattles at an idle...

Yup, my sled has the same miles as yours and I'm hearing a high pitched noise as well. It's not a rattle but more like a whining noise. Haven't checked the sled over yet but I think it might be that the clutch faces are glazed causing the noise. When I do check it out I'll report back on what I find.

Me too, I only have 2800 on my 07 attak and the noise seems to be coming from below the sterring column @ around 4500-6000 rpm's, not horrible but not normal either. Maybe it was from that endo I did onto the hood last year!!

I have it also. Probably the injectors working. Has it been cold? Chances are this noise is just the dynamics of the sled. As time goes on it may have gotten just a little louder. Enough for you to notice it now.

I have 2000 miles on my 06 GT, getting a metalic buzzing noise at the same RPM range, thought it was the panels around the steering post or something. Maybe the steel cross brace for the headlight pod?

I have the same exact problem and have been dealing with it for 8,000 + miles. It has been driving me nuts. I started to tare my sled down tonight and ruled out many of the things I thought it was.
I thought it was the trim ring. Then I thought it was my riser. After removing my riser and the factory riser block I found it was neither. The steering column #5 in the picture below is rattling at the top. I don't understand why yet as this is a welded post.
I will continue to look further, but has anyone found a way to fix it?

I took out the cable consolidating little U bracket in my steering column and it went away with a set of Rox Risers. Mine was more like a chirping I think it was loose/tight cables on mine

I had a noise coming from my Attak GT at or just above clutch engagement and found there is a washer on each side of the front shock on the top mount that would rattle. A bit of silicone on each one and all is good now. kviper

Tore the sled down to tighten a loose exhaust bolt. With the tank out I was able to pinpoint the rattle. It is coming from the tie rod joint at the base of the post. I will replace both ends over the off season. They seem to have some free play that is causing the rattle.
