Planning to replace the clutch side jackshaft bearing this year. Anyone with the Yamaha part number for this bearing?
I was wondering about the chaincase bearings. They should be good as they run in oil however does anyone have any reports on these failing or do I need to pay attention to them. I never had a problem on other machines and I have ran over 10,000 miles.

Here's your best source for aftermarket...page 175, dbl click on it.

Jack shaft on clutch side I just pop the seal off every spring and re-pack it, it'll last forever if you do this annually...in chaincase yes bearings are in oil but how often do you change your oil, if you leave it for prolong amount of time it accumulates shavings and contanimates that can harm...1 thing you should really look at is your CHAIN, its always over looked and if it fails, the chaicase will GRENADE = $$$$ I change my oil every 1600kms/1000miles it only takes 15min and cost $3.00 or so per 250ml, I use SWEPCO 212 gear oil...I changed my driveshaft at 10.000kms and everything was in perfect condition but for peace of mind I changed the lower driveshaft bearing and the 2 oil seals...didn't have to be replaced if you want my opinion...but I had everything apart, my chain was as good as new, all within spec.
