I bought mine with my son to have as a ditchbanger third sled - I never rode my Viper again.

I love the Apex for all the groomed trail running I do but getting on my daughter's Phazer makes me long for the good old days of light/tossable machines.

Apperently some dealers were stamping the tunnel with a asterisk(*) by the serial #s for each recall. Mine isn't but this may have been done to yours.

any dealer can put the serial number in the system and it will tell them what updates have been done - they are warranty to the dealer, so they have to register the repair to get paid. That being said, there are good dealers, and not so good dealers. The mechanic at my dealer automatically ordered and installed most updates without me asking (except for the fan, which they kind of had to fight for). If you find some updates not done, you may have a fight on certain ones - they will do the steering update, the rivet in the airbox update and probably the ball joint update, but I had the billet link, wheel and front arm update done to mine, and I understand the kits are no longer available. I also had the cold start done, and I'm not sure where Yamaha stands on that update at this time.

The biggest one for me that made a huge difference on the sled was the cold start. The sled started like crap when it was cold out. It would crank over to no end. I got this done last fall.

i tried the nytro before buying my phazer it was fast but i couldn't throw it around like the phazer and it was to much power for the tight 4 wheeler trails i love to play on in the woods. a year later i still think i made the right choice for me and my area.

I stayed on the phazer because of the weight - if i just rode trail i'd be on a nytro or apex, but off trail i need the light weight and agility of the phazer.

Same thing here I like riding off trail. That is the best part of snowmobiling being out in the powder.
