I searched and searched but could not find the answer to my question. does not mean it was not there though...
I purchased the pilot 5.7 skis and install kit with the two different stopppers. But an obvious problem is clear to me but I am sure those "in the know" will know! The new pilot skis are not predrilled on the outside for the second carbide. it is formed to accept it just is not predrilled. ( factory messup?) I can easily drill a hole and install but wanted to ask if everyone with an apex GT and pilots are running dual carbides or a single 6" down the middle. Do not want to do it and then have holes in these new skis. Thanks for your help!!!!

I just did the same thing to a vector last night. I drilled out the 2 outside holes and put woody's 4" on the outside and Woody's 6" down the center. From what I researched on here the dual runners are the way to go on Yammie sleds. I'm installing them tonight and will post my results...If you use the search function on here and enter "pilot and skis" you will get alot of information from people that did it on Apexes and Nytros also...

yep thats correct... i run with alot of doo's.. and had some too, we always put the 6" inside.. drill and put 4" out... shaper bars work excellent too...
I just run dollies on both of the apex's and get about 85% of the performance the pilots would give... just comes down to $$$$ and howmuch you want to spend...
cheers,

If you don't install the outside carbide you will get massive wear on the ski in that area.

I just started running pilots on my 08 Apex this year. the thing darted BAD, untill I called Scott Burgstrom. He sent me a set of his triple piont carbides and ski savers along with shims. WOW! What a difference! Should have gotten those triple points on day one. Don't put duelies on the pilots. Trust me, get bergstrom triple points, ski savers and shims. You will be glad you did.
