08 rtx ?

Yeah, I know I'm coming off as negative but when you've got a pile of skis & carbides in the garage and a notebook full of different settings and nothing works, then you get frustrated.

Thing is, I'm critiqing the sled handling of the sled for what probably only .5% of the sledding population uses it for. You mention the weight of the sled, that tells me your suspension settings are so soft that you are bottoming out, causing you to slow down. My sled is set up stiff to absorb the bumps so you can go as fast as possible. You starting hitting bumps hard and fast the bump steer will rear its ugly head and the sled becomes unstable. What gets me is the other brands of sleds don't do this. Yamaha needs to improve the front end so the Nytro can at least hang with the other 600's. If you'd like to do some reading, check out this thread. It's the best one I've found on this site that discusses the front end issues and handling problems.

I think it would be wonderful if the Zbros front end cured the Nytro's handling issues. I simply don't see how if can when it does not change the mounting points for the a-arms or inner tie rod ends. My guess is it will improve things a little bit and help prevent ski lift in the corners simply because of the wider stand. The wider stance will also allow of the a-arms to have more leverage against their cheesy mounts in the subframe which could lead to other problems.

Actually it doesn't bottom at all...the issue I have is more how the weight is distributed on the sled ( front being heavy ) and when you are in the real beat up tight n twisty stuff the sled is just alot to muscle around...it becomes more apparent at the end of a ride when the last 20 miles are crap and you are already tired from a long ride....for the most part my sled goes straight in the bumps at any speed....I do understande peoples frustrations with the sled...I was lucky as most people had them figured out by the time i got mine...so it took very little to get it to where I love it...I actually turned down riding a new XRS 800 Etech and Rush cause I liked mine so much.

If your sled feels front heavy than it sounds like your limiters are sucked in putting a lot of weight on the front. The Nytro naturally transfers when on the throttle, way more than any sled I've ridden. The fact that you don't bottom out tells me you are not pushing the sled very fast through the bumps.

Anyway, I just thought it was interesting that I finally discovered why the Nytro handles like POS. If you get another chance, you should ride a Rush particurally if it's an '11 or newer. The stability and handling is heads and shoulders above a Nytro. The one I rode wasn't even set up for my weight and it was occasionally bottoming out front ski shocks. The center shock bottomed out like crazy through the big whoops yet the sled didn't do anything weird and just tracked through them straight. The rear shock of the rear skid felt bottomless, just like you read about in the magazines. I was actually way more impressed with the front suspension and handling than I was the funky rear suspension.

It's pretty eye opening to ride something that makes going fast easy.

thanks for all the input so i guess it depends on how you ride and where .there are many diffrent opinions on here and thats a good thingi guess i will have to try one and find out for my slef i think i can trade my fst even for the rtx and it has less mi's and a y.e.s. till 2013 if i dont like it then ill have to trade it in and get something eles thanks again for all the help and i will read up on all the good stuff in here.
