My buddy has put about 300 miles on his GT. After riding it all day (on Saturday, in Cadillac) we got back to the hotel and realized we had no refreshments. I jumped on it to run down to the store and it did not want to start. Once it did, it seemed ok. When I got done at the store, it fired right up then had a hesitation as I started to go. It has ran great up to that point. It really wasn't cold - It was colder in the UP and had NO problems. Sunday morning it was 9* and it started right up. He's taking it in (along with the mighty Phazer) this week. Any suggestions/ideas? The first thing I thought was water in the gas, but we got gas in both sleds at "bigger" stations (not the 1 pump middle of nowhere station). Thanks in advance.

No choke when I tried to fire it up. We had only been back about 10 minutes. After it didn't want to start I choked it.Metallicat said:You didn't try to choke it, did you?

For some reason most carbed Yamaha engines seem to like to have the throttle cracked just a hair when warm starting. Ever since my 98 SRX I've always done that and never had an issue with either the 3 or 4 cyl. Might give that a try?
