09 Phazer GT warning?

I was riding my sons 09 phazer gt and the warning light started flashing and the fuel icon with all the fuel bars were flashing also and we had filled up with gas 10 miles before this happened. Any ideas?

That means either the sender is no good or an open or short in that circuit.

First of all make sure the plug hasn't came undone.
Sometimes they develop bad spots inside the sender. The guage may work when the tank is right full for example, but not at other levels.
Fill the tank up and see if it acts normal again.

If you locate the plug, you could unplug it and use something to close the circuit going into the harness. That will help to narrow the problem down.

Although they're not the same snowmobiles, here's a post I made where I removed my fuel sender to clean up the contact surfaces the sender moves along.
