FYI
I bought the Yamaha 12 Volt DC outlet so that I can plug my GPS in. What a hunk of Junk. Having the wiring harness is a bonus, but the outlet has no plug retention (Zero!). It is perfectly smooth with no lip or other retaining mechanism. The vibration of the sled running alone causes it to lose contact.
The included plug (Marinco) is labeled to lock into an outlet, just not the one included in the Yamaha kit. I googled Marinco 12 volt dc outlet and found a matching (and locking) outlet for much cheaper than I paid.
I'm going to try to Macgyver the outlet I have. If I ruin it, I'll use the existing wires and order a Marinco Outlet.

Bought both of my outlets from West Marine. One was the Marinco brand which was $20 for my Nytro and then later I bought the West Marine brand for my Phazer for $10. They are identical. They both have a threaded locking nut on the bottom to clamp tight. I spliced in the first one to the connector on my Nytro and on my Phazer I got a few pins for the dummy connector and connected it just like the $50 Yamaha one.

Live and Learn, that is for sure.
I bought the kit with the sled. Just don't use it for snowmobiling
Good thing I always have duct tape handy. I can fix anything with that!

I used a Skidoo 12 volt plug and it fit perfectly in the hole. I did a write up on it in the forum.

Thanks for the pics!
Those are obviously better than the one currently in the sled.
I usually over analyze everything. As soon as I don't...............

Hey everyone, I ordered and received the Marinco 12V outlet/receptacle. It is a huge improvement. My GPS power cord locks right in. It will actually work on a snowmobile. I highly recommend this outlet.

This is a little off topic, but i just wired up a foot of wire to a receptical and used some 'bullet' connectors that matched up to my Battery Tender jr pig tail. I carry it with in my pocket, then i can just plug it in when i need it, and use it on my bike, quad, or sled.

Brilliant that's the way to go if you ask me. Now what is everyone using for mounts?
