I am considering doing a stretch on my apex. Not sure whether not there is an advantage to useing a tipped rail extension with a 136.
I was hopeing someone has used a 136 tipped setup, and has something to say about it good or bad.

It seems no one has used a tipped 136 extension. I will stick with what i know and get the strait extension kit.
I am thinking about doing the same and have the same question. I'm also wondering about the tunnel extension and if anyone had an opinion on the different ones available...good or bad.

I'm not sure that you can even buy a 136 tipped up rail extension can you? Muffin works has a tipped 121 to 144 ext. They make great tunnel extensions as well. You won't go wrong with them...

My first Apex was a spring ordered 2006 GT. I now ride an 07 Attak GT.
If you are extending I would reccomend a longer extension Ie 136" track use extension for 141" or more. It's proven the Apex chassis floats better that way. As for the rails, the Apex chassis in 136 is awesome on the trails so I would be indifferent to the tip ups until longer than 136".

Maybe there is no advantage to a tipped 136, but it seems that no one here has tried them.
Now I have thought of 144 also and since I posted this thread I have found a few tracks of what I find personally the best track I have used I the past, a 1.25 6 pitch pedator, sadly now discontinued. So now the 144 route seeems apealling. But looking at the little pic on vmax4ever post above of a sled landing on it's tail, I would question the rails bending and buckleing with the extra lenght. Expessally if you were to land a liitle to one side and a harder surface.

A tipped 144 does handle much better in the corners, but I wouldn't go as far as to say it handles as good as a 121 ... More like a 136 straight. A 144 tipped has a full lug off the snow at the very end of the rail.
Our 136 tipped runs at the same angle. So because it is a bit shorter than a 144 tipped, you still have lug contact at the very end. Does it corner better than a straight? Yes. Does it corner as good as a 121? No ... But I would say it corners as good as a 128 straight. We sell about 50/50 of 136 straight/tipped.

Evil Eagle no need to worry for breaking it, i ran the 121-144 tip last year, several drag races, mountain climbing and alot of hard smashes to the skid and when i took it of now for puttin on the 136 i couldnt see any signs of wear etc.
Its rock solid.

Why may I ask are you switching from a 144 back to a 136?
Also good to know about the durability of the 144 extensions.

An other thing I was thinking about the spring rates with a 144 kit. Now with the extra 11.5 inches of rail lenght and leverage on the spring and shock. Now would I need a stiffer rate spring?
