will a 128" 13.5 1.7 lug track work on my phazer FX? and if so do i need to re-gear or do anything with the clutch?

well the phazer track is 14in wide and the back idler wheels are rite on the edge of the track so i would have to say no but i dont know for sure

There are threads on this topic if you can get the search function to work. I believe you need to machine down the spacers for the outer two rear wheels. Also, the wheels mounted to the torsion spring holders cannot be used because the bracked cannot be machine down due to the spring behind it. I would try to adopt a bracket from another maching and try to move those wheels forward a hair. I've been thinking of trying this same mod if I can come across a track for the right price!

I am running a 13.5x128x1.375 on my phazer. I have all my rear axle wheels(4) in tact without any mods. The rear wheels are right on the edge but no issues. The only thing that changes is the one track tension bolt isn't centered in the track window so you have to angle a wrench to adjust it. No big deal. GO FOR IT, there is a slight difference in ride and a huge gain in traction. FYI I got my extensions from hartman inc. very nice, easy install, and great people to deal with. $95 out the door I believe. :rocks:

Snomaniac,

What did you do with the outside wheels on the torsion spring mounts? Did you just leave them off?

Thanks for the feedback. Just ordered everything yesterday ill get some pictures up when i get it done...

Camo,

Just wondering where you are buying your track and the price if you don't mind? If u wanted, maybe you could start a thread detailing the install for us? I would be very interested!

Thanks!

Because the only 14" x 128" track that you can find is a 1" Camoplast hacksaw... your only options are to buy a 13.5 inch Arctic Cat track or cut down a 15" track.

Wouldnt cutting down a 15" be a better option? leave you with a lot more choice, and price range.

I left all wheels in place. You're only losing roughly a quarter inch off each side of the track. It's not a big deal. Remember the distance between rails on almost all sleds is the same. So wheels like the torsion spring upper ones are still running in the same place if you know what I mean. There are quite a few options for tracks 13.5 wide. Good luck. :jump:

Redphazer,

i got the track from a buddy that is the parts manager at a local arctic dealer. I give 250 for it and its brand new they ordered it for a guy and he ended up not buying it. Yeah ill get one started
