Hey just checking to see how everyone who upgraded their wheels are doing and what they have for miles on them. I have yet been able to ride. I put on 6 135mm polaris wheels on. Used stock mounts on the 2 inner and 2 outers. I had 1.5mm shaved of the shoulder of the inners to accommodate the wheel. I then added two towards the back of the skid using the 2 bolt brp mounts. Just curious if anyone filled the extra space behind the bearing with washers or just bolted them on... and results both ways. The 2 bolts seem to be the way to go, but the rtx se had the idler springs and a gas canister hooked to the mounts as well so I used the stock mounts up front.

Thanks
Ray

Up front, I used the stock mounts and turned them down 1.5mm also. In the back, I used a BRP 2 bolt mount. I haven't gotten any significant mileage on them yet, maybe 500km, but my sliders are looking good.

Forgot to add, I did add a washer or two to fill the void created by the wider bearing.

wheels

Have the 135mm bombadeir wheels on my 09fx and the slide wear is just about none.2876 miles so far.

Saw somewhere on here that the washer for a spacer would get hot and crack and mess up the bearing. I didn't believe it but when I put mine on I didn't have the right size washers so I didnt put any in... and i'm worrying the normal washer will bend in and the wheels will wobble and break off before I get the chance to tighten them again.

Anyone not use a washer?

What is wrong with Yamaha wheels? I got 2800 miles on my sled with original hyfax and there is a good 3/16" left before they are wore out. How many miles are you guys getting on your hyfax to warrant changing wheels and fabbing them to fit?

oooh 500 on one sled 320 on the other. Down to the aluminum...

You must be running your track real loose. I have to crank mine too tight imo to keep from rachetting. I blow through a set to hyfax in about 400-500 miles easily....

Track isn't overly loose. I don't like it tight. My track doesn't ratchet like you are saying. Are you riding in good snow conditions?

This has been covered heavily, some yamahas are getting good wear. Most are not... end of story. So back to this thread... how are the 135s holding up guys? I'm pulling mine off to fill the space with stainless washers. Seems like a good idea. Ill post pics soon.
