well the RTX is now stretched out to 136". The swap went quite smoothly, a couple pounds of wings and a few beers later she was ready to rock. A big thanks to mnmsnowbeast for the smooth transaction which involved shipping our skids from Ontario to Maine and vice versa. And lastly to machzed for pulling the skid while I was away to make this deal possible..and for the help putting the 136er in..thanks buddy.

On a side note..thank god for Air Rivet guns, best tool ever.

To be honest I really did not get a good chance to put it through its paces. We did put a few miles on the trail but they were table top smooth!! The sled was pushing quite badly in the corners partly due to the fact that the snow was so soft and heavy and also because of the fact I did not have any time to dial in the front end to suit the 136. We did get to do some off trail riding and there was obviously a huge difference over the 121 in those conditions.

I'm running a 136" stock Attak ripsaw. If anyone is interested it will be for sale. I wanted to swap for something different before I did the installation but ran out of time and had to get out for one last ride. Track has 50miles on it and will be available in the off season. Tunnel Ext will probably also be available as well.

I didn't find that to be true with my Attak, paving the way for the jump to the RTX for me. These 4-strokes are too heavy to be an off trail sled unless you stretch them to at least 144 IMHO.

Interesting you found that mighty. The reason for me switching over to the 136 skid was by no means for off trail traction but with out a doubt the 136 made a noticeable difference for me off trail. Simmons ski's upfront help quite a bit as well but climbing hills and breaking trail required noticeably less effort after she had been stretched. Coming off the Mach these Apex's feel like you are navigating a 440racer through the hydro lines and ditches.

Regardless, I'm happy with the move and with my upcoming off season projects I think I'll be glad I made the change

I'm sure 136 helps somewhat but to be honest I didn't really feel I could go thru anymore fluff than I was able to with my RX-1. The 136 IMHO excells with getting your HP to hook up on the trails and also keeps the sled more stable at speed. My Attak and Warrior never felt like they fishtailed, ever. My RX-1 did in certain conditions even with 192 studs. Not sure about the RTX, zero miles so far :o|

Matt i am glad i could help, but i am a little confused, did you say its for sale,so you are getting something new for 07?? Thats cool but i thought you were working on a blower for it? ;)! ;)! Pete

hey Pete, nah, just the track and likely the tunnel extension. I'll need a fully clipped track and I will likely goto an aftermaket tunnel extension that has a "kick-up" designed into it.

I rode my attack of trail about 4 weeks ago just after the northern Lower got slammed with like 3 feet of fresh over a week span. My attack worked great and was very nimble and light feeling

Hey cowboy we were up in madawaska this past weekend,we even ran the course they raced on,but we left 30 min. before the race started,i couldent see paying 100 bucks, with out first running the course,my litle buddy and myself ran it in 40 min. and we were stopped 3 times and asked why we were out there, lol anyway my boys rtx i rode has them same skis you got and same color,i love them, after getting back on my now er with stock shocks and stock yammi skis i need to do something for next year, simmons and maybe gyt shocks,i am thinking i should of kept my fox floats that i had on earlier this winter..

MAtt...glad to have helped, and thanks again for the deal on the proline clutching setup....

I am so bummed i didnt get out saturday with you guys, what a mess of a time i had trying to load this thing on a melted snowbank!...gees..

the sled turned out great!...looks good in pics and im glad you got to run it on the water,ice,slush..LOL.

anway, keep me posted on this upcoming weekend,if we get a few inches they are forecasting and the cold we should have a great weekend of riding in store.

hey dan,

ya I was hoping you could get out for the ride with us. We started off from Brandons and headed out across lake of bays to dorset. The lake was slushy at that point but still pretty good, there were sections though that had a lot of standing water which made for some fun riding!! i only wish I had my helmet cam!!

After our ride up to Ox Narrows we headed back and the sun had softened up the lakes even more! Much of they way back was just one big water skip on top of what we think was a safe amount of ice

The apex definitley has some areas in which allows direct access for water to hit the belt! lots of slippage going on!

Wow! Nice work guys! I no longer have to photoshop a 136 RTX lol

Not fair you guys are getting all that play time. :o|

We should hook up Friday or Saturday to pack down and preserve the snow we have left. I’m finally getting a little bit of spare time…..

Dan
