I just installed a 13 mm sway bar on my 03 rx1 and I am impressed with the results, wish I would have done it earlier. It rails around the corners now.

Is a 13mm rod enough or would you widen the front end also? I am curious about what it takes to keep the ski down in corners . I still have a completely stock 03 rx1.
;)!

I don't think you'll need to widen the front end, the bar should be enough. You'll probably want to soften the ski springs though.

has enyone herd of one breaking i snapped mine last week ?

Never heard of one breaking before...where did it break? Sounds like a defect...maybe contact the manufacturer for a replacement.

No you won't have to widen the front end. Since I put on the 13mm sway bar my sled corners awsome. Like rxthunder said it's like driving a completly new sled and adds to the fun factor. I didn't think it would make such a difference.

Thanks for the info. I was hoping to find out about the wide front from feedback because they are about 700 bucks, so I think maybe I will get the 13mm sway and fox floats and have some fun.

Where did you get yours this is something I need to do. I ordered my HID lights but I am going to see if they will work on my bike.

I have bought lots of stuff from a member on here called hibshman25 and asked him to keep me in mind when he gets a sled with one. So he did. He is a great guy to deal with. Ithink I paid somewhere around $35 or $40 for it.

The wide front end kit is built for a smooth trail, and is a lighter construction, if you hit it hard a few times, it will fold. Shocks, swaybar, removing all spring pressure off of the top of the shocks will help greatly. You want your a-arms to a level as possible. One other thing most RX1 owners dont share is how to ride one when cornering, keep on the throttle when approaching a curve, let off just before entering the corner, this will dive the nose, adding pressure to the skis, at the apex of the curve start on the throttle again until you feel safe to pin it. Once you learn this, you will love it.

When I installed my zx2 skid the ride improved greatly from the old proaction but I seem to feel alot more in the front end now and wanted a solution. Being from Canada and looking for a place here, I talked to a guy at shocktec in Ontario. I told him my situation and he said that the yamaha shocks are actualy very good shock but the factory valving is poor. He could rebuild and revalve them ($60/shock)to my weight and riding style and they would perform just as good, if not better as most aftermarket shocks including fox floats and the handeling of my sled would improve, especialy with a 13mm sway bar. I will definatly go this route first and see what happens
