Its done, 38 inch front end and 153 powerclaw on the girlfriends Viper. Can't wait to try it but it is almost exactly like my 2014 M8 now except the engine so should be just as great! Please note I used a heat gun and raised the angle of the mud flap as it looked closer than I liked. (had already shortened it due to sled deck).
Rail extensions - 155.00 Muffinworks
Used take off track - 350.00
38 inch front end kit still in box for 2012 Cat via Ebay = 200.00
Racinstation shorten Fox Floats = 200.00 with shipping
Total to create 2015 Mountain Max/Mountain Viper = $905.00 USD

WOW! Had it out today and we shredded some awesome powder. Left trenches 2 to 3 feet in our bottomless sugar like powder snow and keeps on going.. Went places our old Nytros (162 tracked) could only dream of. It went places right with the 2014 M8....awesome!
The bad though, hits about 8600 rpm and then pulls down to about 7400 and back up to around 8k. What's up? Never saw a Yamaha clutch do that. Sad day when the Cat clutches from the factory work better than the Yamaha clutch....lol. Actually since our last ride I drilled out toe and heel rivet to get 54 grams and the rpm went up another 600 or so to where it is now because it was much worse. My best guess is it is in the secondary though as it seems to upshift to fast and then comes back down. I tightened the secondary spring but it still did not solve this issue. Anybody else solve this issue?

What weights are you running? If you're running the stock weights from XTX which are 8GL they will tend to do that, try running a set of mountain weights 8FS. Plus change the stock secondary from the 41° to the 39° that's used in the mountain sled I think that will help. That's what we've been running and it works really well. We have one set up just like yours XTX with a 153 jammed into, we also have a 162 with a 2.6 powerclaw.

I have the 8BU weights and 14.5 mm rollers, MTX secondary setup (39* helix and white spring cranked to 80*).
So far seems to work good. Much better than stock as it shifted way to fast.
I am running 162" CX for a track.
