the 2003 clutch side jackshaft bearing is a press in cone type
and the 2004 has a updated threaded stye with a coller. i
know there is a whole update kit with jackshaft ,bearings everything.my question is can you buy the updated coller and bearing and use your 2003 shaft? ;):D

Great info on how to change the clutch side bearing. I think rookie is asking as I have an 03RX1 is the original shaft threaded to except the collar ( Nut) update or do you have to change to a newer jackshaft? I plan on checking mine out soon to check for ware on that bearing and would also like to know as mine does not have the updated collar (nut)
Thanks, Blue

I understood his question, I guess I wasn't clear enough with my answer. The threaded part you are both asking about is not a part of the jackshaft, it is a part of the bearing keeper. There is no part of the jackshaft that is threaded (at least not in the area in question). Look a bit closer at the pictures I posted in the how-to, hopefully it will make sense to you...

Laker, All right I see that now, Sorry havent seen that style before. That must come as part of the bearing kit? Anyway thanks again for the info!

I believe the bearing is one part #, and the nut/collar are seperate.
