I read in last month's Snowtech magazine that Yamaha is recommending anyone with an 04 to switch to 2005 RX-1 M specs.
Does anyone know what the specs are for cluthing and gearing on an 05 as compared to the 04??? It is supposed to be a vast improvement and I am looking into making the switch.

Yeah, I just switched to the 05' clutching and it is awesome. I don't think gearing changed but I switched mine to 20/42 and it compelements the clutching very well. Great for crawling around in the trees and will hold just under 10k when pulling a steep hill. Good luck.

8BU-10 weights, O-P-O primary spring, 14.5mm rollers and same secondary specs as 03'-04'. For elevations above 10,000 no rivets are needed in the weights, below that will need rivets. 20-42 or 19-42 gearing works better than the stock 21-40 on 03'-05'.

Cool, I'm a flatlander, but like to powder ride through the bush and stuff. Ride 1500-2000 asl. I will look into the 05 kit for sure. Currently I am running 10,800 23/40 with ripsaw (stock 04 clutching with reverse) . 2"/151" is being installed along with anti-ratchet drivers.
