Hi,
I wanted to know what would be the best length studs to put on my track. I have a couple choices from the company I am buying them from.
I do not want to have them so long that they hurt my tunnel or anything else, but want them long enough to work great..
What would be best for this track?
1.40 inches
or
1.25 inches
Thanks very much for your input!
Oh.... Is it ok to run 87 octane gas in the RX1? I was reading in the manual that they recommend 88 or higher. I remembered the last time I went and got gas in the can that I put in the RX1 that it was 87 octane...
Thanks!

87 is ok
If you have a stock track you can go with 1.325" studs.

more info...
The 1.325s are from the Woodys brand...
That is not a choice with the brand I plan to buy..
Just the 1.40 & 1.25 are choices in that range...
Do you know offhand what the measurement of the stock track is from the inside of the track to the top of the lug?
Thanks!

Re: more info...
From those choices I guess I would choose 1.40. The 1.25 are the same as the lugs so penetration would be nil and therfore useless added weight.
Too bad you can't get 1.325 as they would be the best choice.

was trying...
I was trying to avoid spending the big $$$ on the woodys...
Maybe I should just do that though... Sounds like people on here have good look with the less expensive Woodys Stainless STeal Signature Series?

The Stock track is a 1.25 ripsaw so the 1.40 is the better option in that brand of stud.

Re: was trying...
I used the SS Signatures in my Warrior...2300 miles later and they look new. I'm a fast but easy rider, not into spinning the track at every chance and last years trail conditions were mainly favorable.

Agreed the SS Woody's are the way to go. I ride same as NY_Warrior and have 2600 miles on mine and all look perfect. Don't go cheap. My brother in-law went for some no name knock-offs....only 30 miles on his MXZ 800 and they're TOAST!! He's now saving his pennies for Woody's SS.... He looks like this....

Two years ago at hay days I bought 1000 studs they were safe track studs got a really good deal(so I thought) in the first winter i had went through allmost the whole 1000 studs between two sleds. The carbide would fall out and chip very easily, some of the studs didnt even have carbide in them when I pulled them out of the bag.I put 144 woodys gold diggers in mid last year in my rx and they still look like new.Ive also ran woodys excells and megabites the gold diggers hold up the best IMHO
