Finally think I have a line on a 2007 phazer fx....ok so i have a few questions....what do I need to look for for problems??.Things that crack/break etc??..I am unsure of the mileage...but it looked to be in pretty good shape...the guy did say they are a bear to start if they have been sitting. It is completely stock are there any service bulletins or updates i need to be aware of (it is a yamaha dealer, where I am looking)If he hasn't performed any of the service bulletins would any yamaha dealer do this for me?? Is there a cost???..this dealer is located 3 hrs from my house.
I know the tunnel is not closed off..it is also non studded, and has single carbide runners...I know the one I test drove a few years ago..did hunt and dart a bit, and seemed a bit high centered..would duallys correct this, and do I need to stud it right away???
I guess I just need to know what I'd need to do to make this handle anad ride well..and of course run properly. This will eb my first four stroke if it's all good, and has no problems.
I am getting rid of the cat..so now maybe you guys won't call me a lurker/troll..lol

look at the rear suspension where the 2 shocks meet. (center link) seen pics on here of that breaking. updates are made for this. other than misc. updates the dealer can check the vin# to see what update are done or need to be. should be done at no cost.
as far as handling, duallys or shaper bars are good but have heard from TY guys, ski upgrade is best. studing will help some but a bigger lug track will be much better.
you'll have to set it up to your weight & riding style by messing with shocks & limiter strap.
i'm no genious, just speaking from what i learned from here & tweaking my sled.

I bought my Phazer last year and just finished an 800 mile ride in Canada so my experience is a little limited, but for what it is worth...
I put Woody's doolys on prior to my Canada trip. It fixed the darting I had prior.
In my opinion, studs are good.
I have never had an issue starting when the sled is cold, just keep the battery charged.
I did need to have the dealer replace the suspension part that connects the two shocks.
Other than that it has been a great sled. I ran 800 miles with a few 800 Dragons in Canada, on the lakes and the railroad beds, it was no contest, they just pulled away, however on 95 percent of the trails, my Phazer was all over them.
With that being said, you need to ride this sled using your body weight. You can not just sit and ride it like a touring sled.

What ski's would you recomend? A USI model? I TOTALLY agree on the 1.5" track.
