Ok, I've got that many miles on this sled and here are the results. I've been very happy with the sled overall. I upgraded from an 06 Fusion Dragon (Walker Evan shocks) that I still own. I got tired of the reliability issues of the Polaris and lack of power. Compared to my last two Polaris's the RTX has been flawless. I've had only two issues, I blew an idler wheel on the inside of the skid with about 1200 miles. This weekend I broke both front limiter straps on a 450 mile trip. They seem to flex right where the bolt goes through and weaken and snap, they're pretty thin too, I think. As far as setup here's what I did and am happy with it. Bergstrom triple carbides with shims and no ski savers, Flox Floats set at 50psi, front limiter straps pulled up one hole, rear springs set at medium and the rear clicker set at 12 clicks, rear transfer rods set at 2nd line up from bottom. With this setup I got no inside ski lift, good cornering and the sled will bottom only on huge bumps. If I turn the clicker up to 14 it won't bottom at all. I weigh 195lbs. I know some guys are complaining about bottoming but this sled has the same bump capacity as the Dragon I have just heavier. The Flox floats are very sensitive to pressure, if I go above 50 lbs the front end ride will become very harsh, if I go to around 40lbs it will cause the sled to pitch and lift an inside ski. As far as speed, I ride with an 07 Apex GT and Attack. They are pretty close, the Attack is definitely the fastest, on some conditions mine's faster ,others the GT is. I don't see any real difference in gearing as these sleds have three different gears. We never run on ice, though. Mine seems to rev quicker on the trail but traction is always an issue. My Dragon can be hammered harder overall but it's put together like a high school shop project and is a frustrating sled to own. The Yamaha is the opposite. As far as mileage I've gotten average around 15mph, no worse than 12, no better than 16. That's good since my last two Poo's got no better than 10 in any condtion.

Hi Pete, you say you dont run on ice,i thought it was you who had the 05 fusion going 117 on video couple of years back? Oh do you still have your 23 top in,for all those snow miles,as you mentioned earlier you thought it slowed ya down in snow, but caused you to increase in speed on glare ice! So what has been your best top end speed with any gear,i heard you say 113 stock, but have you been able to repeat this speed?

I'll run ice if we have it, but too much snow now. I went right back to the 22 tooth gear, only ran the 23 one weekend. Mine's faster with the 22 in every other condition except ice.

Yup thats what i am seeing to,i think its the chassie,it seems to rob more power than the mono did,and requires a smaller gear.69redmach1 said:I'll run ice if we have it, but too much snow now.
