Hi, can somebody help me out with the proper floating piston depth settings for the standard fx Nytro gytr shocks? I have searched everywhere and have a Yamaha service manual which does not give this information. My Polaris and Arctic manuals have always covered this, why does it seem to be such guarded information on Yamaha's? I especially need the two rear shock settings at the moment.
Thanks,
Cory

Alright, so either nobody knew the answer to this or nobody but me cares or rebuilds their own shocks. Just in case somebody else searches for this here is what I have found from taking apart and measuring some low mileage shocks in good condition.
Front track shock on 2009 fx Nytro: 200 psi, 4.900" IFP depth
Rear track shock on 2009 fx Nytro: 280 psi, 2.820" IFP depth when measured from the bottom of the piston to the nitrogen fill hole or 1.06' when measured with the reservoir unscrewed from the shock. I also have made a complete Excel spreadsheet that documents stock valving that I would share if requested. Again these values are based off of measuring shocks not from a book so if anybody has any other information feel free to post it.

Good info, I couldn't give that info if I tried since I have bladders in my GYTR shocks.

Naw, we just didn't care.
Actually, you lost me at "floating piston depth".

Even Carver has these specs on his website, but not a mention of Yamaha. I've had these say thoughts since I came over to Yamaha 4 yrs ago. Good post!

Sorry about messing up your quote, I guess I know as much about computers as I do about Yamaha shocks!!!

For some reason all the shock info seems to be guarded. I certainly appreciate the info you've provided. I had planned on doing both fronts and rears myself this year. However time, and not having a "Sure Thing" on seals and what not forced me to go another route. I would like to have the stock valving info if you could either P.M. or post. I can only imagine how great the secret valving is. I suppose it may be different for the S.E. but I still would like to know. The floats I plan to do, in fact I have all the parts, but again, IFP depth and pressure info is not available. I believe I have a source for that though.
As with Stopdropanroll I have sent my rears to Hygear and they are getting the bladders so IFP depth won't be an issue.
I'll post what I find in the Floats up front.

Funkco,
Go to carverperformance.com
Click on Service info on left.
They have IFP charts. I tried to see if the Yamaha stuff was there but apparently my Adobe Reader is messed up on this computer so I couldn't open the file but I have used their info in the past.
I hope I'm not in trouble for promoting them here. I have nothing to do with Carver, just know it's a good source they've been around a long time and have all of your sled suspension parts.
I used to rebuild/revalve shocks for myself & dealers when I raced.

Sorry guys, I got the CP IFP chart to open but Yamaha is NOT included!?
If anyone gets any of this info I would like to have it as I'll be opening up these shocks at some point.

Correct, Carver has everything but Yamaha info. Deycore also publishes a lot of IFP depth info but has nothing for Yamaha either. On another note I am rather amazed at the amount of changes made to the valving and other components by a certain manufacturers re-valve package.
