I blew the rear shock on my 2009 XTX on the first ride this year. I need a quick fix, planning on riding this weekend and over christmas. Anyone know someone who can fix one this quick? I am in Michigan. Trying to save some bucks, may just have to buy something. I don't want to just get another one that will blow. Suggestions? thanks

Same thing happened to me right after a PM rebuild last year. No cheap fix unless 300 to 400 is cheap for you. The pre 2011 shock body is apparently too thin and blows out. Prior to blowing, the shock body can be sleeved from star suspensions. Now you have to buy new. You can buy a new factory shock or replace with fox zero pro from carver racing. When in same position last year I ended buying two new factory shocks to try and get one ASAP. I now one brand new shock sitting on the shelf. Let me know if you're interested in it. I could ship it out overnight tomorrow.

Pioneer

Not sure I fully understand what you mean but "blown out" but you could have it rebuild by Pioneer Performance. Just overnight it, they had mine done in 3-4 days. Rebuilt and revalved.

No rebuild will help this shock, the shock body has a crack and all the fluid has come out, the body takes all the damage..... only solution is a new shock :o|

It looks like it is going to be covered by YES. only 2 months left. thanks
I was going to say Schmidt Bros here in Michigan may help out , they are right up here in west branch , but it looks like you are getting it covered ;)!

Just wanted to post and give props to Yamaha customer service. Its easy to complain nowadays about bad service but after a great conversation with them they are going to cover my blown shock. They really didn't have to but $459 merry Christmas to me. Always call and be courteous when your dealer says no, you just never know! Thanks Yamaha!
