Used to run Yamahas but have been on Doos for the last few sleds. Currently have a 09 800r shorty. Fast and lots of problems. Looking at the new fi Vectors and just wondered if any of you new Vector owners had raced a 600 E-tec in a drag-race and for top end ? Will the Vector hit 105-110 m.p.h. on the dream-meter ? thanks, T-Rex.

Haven't done a side by side, but one of each... In my opinion, the Vector wIll be slightly ahead on acceleration, for top, i don't know, i always use GPS for top speeds because speedos are so inacurate...

The vector has a much more solid feel to it but doesn't feel all that much heavier...

I would go for the Yam, the Etec is not a very torquey motor..

IMO

Raced a 10 Doo 800 and was only slightly out performed at the top end. Hit 101 with gps and he hit 103. He's also studded with a clutch kit while I'm bone stock. I would imagine doing better against the 600. He also tends to ride my sled more than his when we're out.

My wife's 2006 carbed Vector can beat 600sdi's and I have radared it at 104+mph. I would think the new EFI Vectors are even faster.

I have driven the 600 E-tec and was not impressed. Hard throttle pull overall stiff feeling. Only thing great is MPG. Going to test doo 1200 four cycle today. I have owned 7 yamaha's in last 7 years. 2010 Vector Ltx Gt the best by far. Engine is great. Suspension in the rough is not up to par with competitors however. NO changes for next year except Apex, I am tired of the same old thing from Yamaha. Perhaps time for a change,

I guess the Vector LTX GT EFI with the 144 inch suspesion from the 2011 Apex would be a nice mix...

But then, there is a 20 hp missing..

Drove 1200 4- tec touring. Impressive performance and quiet. Comfortable ride overall nice sled. Not any better than Yamaha however. At least the panels open easy for routine service. Nice comfy seat. Not ready to trade my 2010 Vector LTX GT for it. I think the doo has better rear suspension.

All that is... is better valving.... That can be fixed....

I expect a sled for $12000 to come out of the box with adjustability for all conditions regardless of brand. None of the brands are perfect. They all have pluses and minuses. I've been a Yammy guy for seven years trading sleds every year. This year I think I'll keep my 2010 Vector LTX GT another year. The only OEM with anything new is Yamaha with the Apex ESP. I've had three Apex's, good sleds but front end heavy. ESP will solve the feel. However, They have again reduced fuel capacity and the price is very high.
