I rode in all snow conditions from crusty , to hard pack trails , ice on the lake. In most places this weekend there was about 2 feet on new snow.
I found that the studboy deuce 4.5 carbides made all the difference. I rode nearly 150 miles and I have had no issues. I did try those curve skiis they are on a friends sled. I found that they were hard to steer and had less flotation because of the hour glass shape.
I had tried the new yamaha m9 ski and they were the worst ski i ever used, same hour glass shape, terrible push and plow in corners, bad darting and after one day I was just beat up, these older 7 inch wide yamaha mountain skiis I am using now have made my sled fun to ride. I have no complaints whatsoever.
