- 2010 Vector LTX GT
Hello! About that time of year! My Vector's secondary fixed sheave is damaged from failed buttons. The metal has been shaved down where the buttons go on. The part is no longer available from Yamaha. The 2011+ Vector has a part number of 8CR-17660-30-00 compared to the 2010's part number 8CR-17660-20-00. Would the 2011's sheave work? It wasn't listed as being a superseded part. Thanks in advance for any insight.

Thanks! I am considering that. It were his buttons that failed
They're plastic junk, get squashed, and don't wear like the OEM ones do. Should have known to use OEM ones.

the part # change is a materials or supplier change from what i remeber being told in the past.

I tried aftermarkets from Dennis Kirk as well but once I noticed the profile was different and the material looked different, I opted to go OEM and kept the DK ones only as emergency spares to get through a trip and not a season. OEM's sure are expensive but the added cost is sure worth the added peace-of-mind.
