Any issues with your nose bag? I thought I read somewhere where someone was concerned about overheating the rectifer? Any chance of that?04JRB said:ITHAPPENS said:Is the windshield bag worth it?
I only paid around $30 for my windshield bag off of ebay, but Im really happy with mine. handy place to keep cords for Eshields, a knit cap, tobacco products (if you use them), spare set of gloves, camera, hand warmers, first aid, etc..
Not that the rear compartment cant hold those items, but you can take your windshield bag off (velcro) and bring it with you when you stop for food and stuff.
I take basically anything I used to store in my coat and put it in the bag. I keep tools/fuses/parts/ etc.. in the rear storage. I keep all my tow straps, shackles, repelling rope (100') and a 50' paracord and tarps in my nose bag. Only thing I dont have that I think I should is a shovel of some sort.
Also I see Yamaha has a new designed nose bag, anyone know whats different between it and the old one?

I have not ridden with mine yet, its a new addition this year, I dont anticipate any issues though. Its a factory accessory, I have faith that Yamaha wouldnt sell something that would adversly affect their products.

I'm not sure about the new nose bag design, but I used to have one with my Attak. With my new Apex, I'm not going to stuff one in there regardless of design. Instead I opted for the windshield bag (which is also a new design). It holds a lot while being much more convenient.

Velcro on the tank bag didn't like to stick to the tunnel when it got real cold. I installed stainless steel snaps to the tunnel and the bag. No worries now

The new tank bags have been updated which have done away with the velcro. Snaps are standard.

Thanks, think I will order one up?
Currently I have a windshield bag, handle bar bag and rear bags, just figured the nose bag would come in handy for things one rarely uses like a tow rope, booster cables and the like?
I will more than likely only use the rear bags for over nighters or real long rides?

Is there an accessory bag kit for the rear of the XTX? Or will the exhaust eat it?

No bag that I know of will fit on there, I think the exhaust is to close and low to even try to put one there. Used to have one on my old attack and apex's but I guess no more. That is one complaint I have always had with Yamaha's rear exhaust. If these sleds are made for the high mileage trail riders, then why don't they have provision for lost of gear???

I gotta ask, were are you riding that you need 150' of rope and cord. Let alone tarps? What kinda tarps are you talking about, are you wrapping up bodies or something?
