Thinking about buying a leftover 2011 Apex that my dealer picked up at auction. Current sled is a 2007 Attack GT. Love it. Wondering how people that have these like them, if there are any issues, and if there would be any reason on earth to buy the 2012 for more money. Also have the option to buy a leftover Apex XTX but the pricing does not seem as compelling. Appreciate any and all feedback in advance. Thanks guys. :exc: :exc:

Everyone is going to ask you where you ride, my preference for a mix of highway and twisties would be the STD 128 with the coil-overs. I don't go off trail ever.

I think on the whole people see the sled as a slightly better version of the older model. Worth the upgrade IMO, I have talked to quite of few people who really like the sled and praise the EPS and ride of the sled.

What kind of MODs do you have an the Attak? With certain upgrades the gap between sleds is not so great- so if you have a lot updates done to the Attak the new sled might not blow your mind...

I ride mostly in the Western UP with the occasional trip to Ontario - home base is Land O' Lakes, WI area and generally go N. Only real mods to the Attack are Pilot 6.9, studs, and one of Allen's Clutch kits. I am keeping the Attack because it is the best sled I have ever owned bar none and I love it - only has about 8K on it. My plan to actually trade an 09 XTX that I don't love so much. The extent of my off trail is generally fire roads, power lines, and lakes. I can buy the sled for $10K brand new - seems like a good deal - vs. $12k for an 2011 XTX.

Well 12,000 for the 2011 xtx is too much. Brother got one for less(slightly) last year in november. I ride same area with my 07 attak gt as you, also brother 2011 apex xtx. Definatly the 2011 is 10 percent nicer at everything. I would not get a short track for these riding areas. Down in wis. in the twisty...yes the 128 might prevail. Only issue with the 2011 xtx is bad hyfax wear. He is going to try pioneer brackets this year I beleive.

I would recommend the XTX. I rode the 128 at a demo ride for quite a while and didn't like it. To loose in the corners and on launch. I really like the bite of the 144''s. Work them on the price a little. Good Luck

I have the XTX and love it, still have my 07 RTX as backup but the XTX does everything better, EPS is swwweeeeeet!

The XTX at 12K is overpriced, the 10K for STD seems like a good deal IMO.

Good Luck.

At Hay Days yesterday I saw Yamaha's new hi fax. I'm convinced they will solve the 2011 XTX hi fax issues. They will be about $60 per side but are expected to last 10,000 miles. They had a display with hi fax shown where they had a hi performance wide slide on one side and the dupont embedded hi fax on the other for 4k miles. Dupont hi fax had no wear. Will solve the issue.

So on that issue, I agree with prior poster and go for the XTX with the new hi fax.

I had an 07 apex rtx and now have a 2011 xtx. I stretched the 07 to a 144. the 2011 is a big improvement everywhere on the sled. The only two things i don't like is the smaller gas tank and less storage space.

Are those new hyfax available yet?

At haydays the flyer for the hyfax said a release of november, same as the new dual runner ski. I'm thinking will be on backorder until April. :o|

Thanks for your help

And for all the feedback. Worked the dealer on price a little bit and I am picking an XTX up on Sat.

You're going to like the sled, it will give you a little more versatility than the 128".

Congrats. You will enjoy the sled. I think you made the right choice. The only thing I like better than my wifes Apex xtx is my nytro on boost! Again enjoy and have a great winter.
