2011 Blue XTX Windshields' n Decals

Hey all.

I bought a new '11 XTX at the end of the season last year, and the stock windshield seems high?

I'm looking for some pics of others out there and looking for options.

I'm also looking for any that have different decals than stock.

All input is greatly appreciated!

High? Now that I find humorous! Only beacuse the first thing I did was take the stocker off as it would be way to cold and put a much larger one on. What you are probably looking for is a gauge cover.

Please don't be offended touring shields are not for everyone.

Not sure on Nytros low wind shield should be out there

I'm not offended, thanks for the input.

I've had 2 other Apexes, and 06 and an 08. The windshields on those "seemed" shorter than this one.

I know I don't want guage cover, that's too short.
Just looking to see what everyone else has.

i think the windy on the 11 and newer apex is just right, not to big and not to small that you freeze behind it. works very well. haven't seen any aftermarket selling any for these new apex's yet.

the extra hight is due to the curve on the top that directs the wind up and over you i would give it a try and see how you like it it is the best stock windshild so far from yamaha for an apex i like it just the way it is and you may too.

Trust me at -40 you want the biggest sheild you can get. When you plan a touring trip all summer your at the mercy of the weather. Could be warm could be cold!

I agree though the stock shield was not bad but left my knees exposed. Overall I'd really give the stocker a chance however!

My other Apexes had what seemed like a lower windshield, so when I saw this one it looked high.

I'll give it a shot and see how I make out.
And with regards to the -40...I hear ya! I was in Suds last year when they had their snap and man...did that chill ever go through ya!!

Also in my OP, I mentioned decals that people had.

I was thinking sled wrap for my sled the moment I got her a couple months ago. But now that the dust has settle the more I think about it the more I'll just paint the black sides to match oem blue.

Decals don't cover all the plastic enough for me.
