Want to do a 3 night out trip in UP. Hotels each night, will plan to take minimum clothing. Riding with group. Recommend: trunk bag, saddle bags, other?

Only experience with saddle bags on old Polaris were not good. Need something that stays put when hitting bumps, and cornering hard.

Thanks.

I have the Yamaha Designer tank bag, very happy with it. It matches the lines of the sled and is functional. Not great for packing the items needed for an overnighter, but a great bag for trail items.

I have never had a problem with the Yamaha tank and trunk bags moving around or coming off. I have had some issues with A/M bags in the past but never with the OEM! The only issue is the tank bag does get in the way when I make a hard right turn. It is not good having the throttle get hit when you are trying to turn in a parking lot or at a gas station.

had the same bag for two years..great no problems..I agree it can get in the way of boot when shifting to side stance.

How does the tank bag attach to the sled?

The tank bag has one loop that goes around the gas tank neck. It also is attached by two straps that go around the foot holds. The tank bag is very secure.

That is just the bag I was looking at getting. When I'm not standing I sit close up with my feet in the wells and knees up on the panels, will the bag be in the way of is I tucked up there pretty high on the tank? Also, sorry to hijack the tread but on the XTX note. I don't have one myself but do know some one who does and has the trunk bag. To me it looks like I would hit my foot on it switching boards but he says he does not even notice it is there. I used a backpack for a long trip. It weight 13.2 lbs full. After a mile I forgot it was there. Just try to remember on the big leanin corners and go to lowes and get he big ziplock bag, it's 20 by 20 and put it in the pack and then load it. Nothing gets even damp.

i did a over night trip this year in the up. I mailed my clothes to my final destination and then mailed them back to myself when I left. Worked out great. I also wear a backpack when I ride doesn't bother me a bit.
