2012 Yamaha Apex XTX

Does anyone have a 2012 Apex XTX studded? I was told not to stud the track as it will cause damage to the exhaust and cooler

you have to improve the protection for those componets and then you will be fine.

port yamaha has the fix for this, and I haven't had any problems.

What did they actually do with it. Dealer told me nothing can be done only buy the pre-studded track

My dealer added spacers under the tunnel protectors to give more clearance for studs.

there is a post on this do a search basicly the supports that hold the protectors are C shaped and colapse under presure and need to be boxed in so they cant colapse and you have to add protection to the rear cooler as well to make them thicker.

I have the same sled and I put on a prestudded track. Coming from a studded track i was skeptical. I put 1,000 miles on it last year and I really like it. It doesn't hook up out of the hole as well as a studded but through the trails I say it is just gas good.

I have the '11 xtx, and the I asked the dealer to stud mine.
If I have any issues, it'll be going back to his front door!
