I was invited to test ride the New 2015 Yamaha MTX and XTX SR Vipers in West Yellowstone Montana today
They had ten 2015 Vipers for us to ride,9 of which had MPI turbos installed
One of the Blue and white Viper was said t be Mac's sled
The new mountain seat is a welcome improvement over my 2014 seat
These sleds where pre production units and are not the final spec
The Mountain Viper is not new to me as I have been in development of my own this season.
For my liking I might be ahead as my Viper Rocks, Big improvement over the Nytro
Thanks to Yamaha for putting on this event
We rode the Lions Head and Two Top Area
Had a great day of riding and learned lots !!!

I see a MCX trailer there also, and one sled in the pics had a air intake out the hood. I assume that was a MCX unit, and did you get to ride that one also? If so, how did it compare? It all looks like a GOOD time.

Do you guys know if they keep the front mount radiator on the mtx to saved weight or they still have it.I m asking because here in canade the standard mtx 153 are like 1700$ cheaper than a xtx so I just dont know where they saved so much beside the sway bar I m wondering what the removed.

That is Mark's sled and his rig - he is the MCX dealer out of Montana and probably has quite a few miles on his own sled

The Black Viper has coil over shocks and raw rails at a good price point (Looks Great)
The Red 2014 Viper is mine and have a few miles on it but not enough (Work)
This one has the MCX 190 Turbo kit installed
This Viper started out as a XTX 141 and I installed the 162 Power Claw Track and cat tunnel cap and rails
I also narrowed up the front end from 42 to 38 using Cat parts
Raised handle bars 2.5 inch higher
This is also what Yamaha did to the 2015 Front and Rear suspension
I made some changes to the my rear suspension to make it work better in deep snow
If you compare my 14 to the 15 my rear bumper sits higher and has more suspension out of the tunnel
With my Front shock package , The front end also sits higher off the ground with more ground clearance
The past two weekend I have been riding two to three feet of powder
My Viper wll carve through the snow with ease, Once I start I can't quit
When climbing the 2.6 track gets on top of the snow and your gone
When side hilling and you want to turn up ,It turns right where you want it to
And in this deep snow the MC-XPRESS 190 Turbo works flawless.
It responds instantly at your command all the time and the power is awesome
Yamaha has been very good to me and test drove my Viper yesterday (All Smiles )
I can hardly wait to get a 2015 MTX LE and install the MCX 270 Hp Kit

I have done the same to mine. Right down to vertical steering.
Did you change your gearing? I am having trouble with mine in the rockies. It just won't boost up and hold rpm. Had lots of steam issues choking machine out and snow plugging exhaust. At home sled is crazy but as soon as I get to mountains it is pretty tame. Curious what you have done different.
