I'm looking at purchasing a leftover 16 apex xtx with the back country track. I am pretty sure the drivers are different than a 129. Correct me if I am wrong. I want to know how long of a stud I can run. I do plan on putting a smaller track on also not going to stud the backcountry. Please let me know on what everyone knows thanks.

you need to reinforce the tunnel protectors.

There were issues with stud clearance of EXUP and why I went with ice ripper on my XTX. Better check with your dealer on what and how to do it.I want to stud at least the 1.3 cobra.

It's not so much the tunnel protector itself but their mounting brackets. If you look at the brackets, they are shaped like a C and with the right amount of force/impact from the track hitting the protector, it can collapse that C shaped bracket causing the tunnel protector to become even closer to the tunnel and exhaust. I bought six new reinforced tunnel protector brackets from Kevin at Port Yamaha but I believe he indicated this was his last set as the place that was welding them up stopped doing it.
