2017 Sidewinder Spun Primary Backwards 1/4 turn

Yeah maybe. I might have misinterpreted his statement that he couldn't turn it forward. I interpreted that as it would turn backward but not forward. If that's the case, then something is on top of one of the pistons that hits valves/head when you try to turn engine forward. Given it sounds like this happened all of a sudden when the engine was running, to me makes the chances of more severe damage much higher (bent connecting rod?). It's like dropping a quarter into one of the intake ports with the engine running. Ouch!

Following closely.... any word on what went wrong yet??? Stupid me, I did the same thing to my 19 sxr tonight while cleaning the primary... in my mind, I was confident about cw. I was super gentle while turning and made one full rotation.. no noises or clicks. I had a panic moment, rotated it forward about 10 revolutions. Seemed smooth and had def compression on all 3 cyl. Held my breath and it fired right up. Low revs seems okay. I got lucky i hope but am curious about how the op was able to go a mile? Maybe I'm not out of the water yet?

Well...even though I started the winder after I turned my primary cw for 1 and a half turns......

It ran find but I wondered what might happen in a mile like the op. So I read for an evening, had a sidechat with "Cannondale" and decided to inspect the valve timing as our season had ended. couldnt wonder all summer.. anyways, it only takes a couple of hours. Seat, tank goes sideways. A bunch of zipties and the muffler. Couldn't lift the valve cover completely off but it was very clear when I lined up the crank to the inspection mark, that my valve timing marks were exactly where they are supposed to be..so I got lucky I guess. Sure won't do that again.....
