I just got back today after putting 230+ miles on. The riding was excellent on the railroad beds and logging roads. The woods trails still need more snow which is forecast over the next several days. We rode the railbed from Washburn to Van Buren came back to the Van Buren Cove area of Long Lake and took logging roads back to Cross Lake. We did a loop from there to St. Agatha to Frenchville to Madawaska and back. St. Agatha and Madawaska have groomed in most places. They still could use another significant snowfall. Certainly plenty of good riding.

This ride was also my first on my new Attak. Impressed would be an understatement. I absolutely love it. Looking forward to getting back up there.

the logging roads probably aren`t part of the marked trail are they? so you probably really need to know where you are going. is this correct? where did you unload? do you think it would be safe to go up this weekend?

you can unload at the washburn trailrunners club house ,lots of parking next to rrbed,i live about 1/8 mile from there, havent been out on trails yet but everyone says rrbeds are good, from washburn to van buren is about 49 miles one way so just up and back wouldnt be a bad little scoot, seen lots of dragging going on today from madawaska to ft kent to caribou so i think its finally time

By all means, go if possible. To ride the unmarked logging roads would require someone familiar with them. However, there is plenty of good trail and bed riding to be had north of Caribou. Have at it and have fun.
