1. My idler wheels rubber is GONE. I thought you guys were full of crap when mine showed no signs of wear after 200 miles. A bunch of road riding and thin snow destroyed them. I rode probably 300 miles with no rubber on the wheels. Still plenty of meat on the sliders, too. I was expecting them to be gone.

2. My reverse linkage is out of whack again. Every fourth or fifth time, it pops out of the reverse while backing up. That can't be good for the gearcase.

3. The low windshield was surprisingly a non-factor. We rode in temps. less than 0 degrees Saturday morning, and while it was "chilly", I wasn't cold. I had the neckwarmer stuffed up into my helmet, which helped. I am glad I don't have to get the higher windshield...it looks ugly.

4. Handwarmers took forever to warm up (20 mins), but once they did, they were OK...nothing better. They are tolerable, IMO. Definitely should be stronger though.

This is the first sled I've owned which has limitations higher than the level of rideability I consider my comfort zone. I know this sled can do more, in fact a lot more, than I can give it in the turns. I have my limits when flying through turns, and my RX-1 couldn't handle them...either could my SXR 600. This one can. It's amazing.

The extremely tough decision to go with the RTX instead of the Attak was the correct one. The Fox floats make handling a dream! While the right ski was pounding 18 inch moguls on the inside of the turn and the left ski was on flat hard pack, it didn't affect the steering at all! It was incredible! It just felt like....I could go as fast as I wanted and it would be OK. I stress again that I have never had a sled like this before.

While everyone else at camp was whining about how sore they were, I was fine. We were on some ROUGH trails over the weekend, and there was no cringe or bracing for the bumps. Never let off the throttle.

What an experience it is owning a sled like this. I am so impressed by the ride, handling and comfort of this sled it is not even important to mention the sleds I pulled away from at top end on Stillwater Reservoir.

Hands down, best sled I've ever ridden. The only thing the Rev has on it is weight...it is easier to toss around a Rev than an RTX.

Nice report. I feel the same about my attack in the handling department. My last sled was a 136 and I considered a 121 apex. I'm 100% happy I sayed 136. Runs like a dream in the twisties with me getting tired. And eats the big stuff better then a 121 will ever think about!!!

Great report. ^^ That is a good description. Funny, riding my SX7 now feels like riding a toy.

I didn't feel like changing my wheels on the trail or driving 50-150 miles back to the hotel without wheels so I changed my perfect original wheels before I left for Quebec.

Dirk, I rode an Attak before deciding on the RTX. I didn't notice any ride quality difference, except on the smallest bumps that were really closer together...you couldn't feel them at all on an Attak, and they just barely registered on the RTX. The Attak didn't plow in turns the way I thought it would. It's really the front end that made the decision...the RTX front end felt so much lighter and the Fox floats seem to absorb the bumps individually better than the standard front end.

Nice report. I am still not sure which type of Apex to buy...Definitely getting that Phazer for the wife though...Maybe wait for next year until I replace my 03 RX-Mountain...Hope to be back on it soon now that I have a place to work on it.

Nice report. I now have a better appreciation for my sled after finally riding it in rough conditions. I felt, the next morning, like I had ridden on groomed trails all day. Love the suspension!

Now having 136 I'll never go back to 121. Smoother ride, more traction, no sacrifices that I feel.
